Hi, thank you for the feedback so far. I'm Kaytwo, one of the admins from psychonautwiki who wrote the article. I was introduced to psychonautics through lucid dreaming, which in turn got me interested in the mind, consciousness, and tulpas afterwards. I found tulpa.info three years ago, it helped me(us) considerably early on. Later, I've explored psychedelics and mediation while continuing to have a tulpa. The article is written partly on my personal experiences.

Our approach was to analyze tulpas from an objective perspective in a logical way. I know through experience it can be very personal, the explanation does not seek to diminish that. Rather, we wanted to analyze the experience and present it in a way that someone unfamiliar with tulpas could understand. Since the article is a more objective analysis of tulpas, it could be improved by linking experience reports of people's first hand accounts. Mine is currently being written.

The Psychonautwiki community is interested in psychonautics as a whole, and people of all backgrounds are welcome. This includes tulpamancy, psychedelic drugs, lucid dreaming and meditation. It is my personal belief, as someone who has pursued these areas, that all of them carry great potential for profound experiences, unique insight, and personal benefit. Our IRC is always open to visitors, and all feedback or suggestions are appreciated.

Thread moved back to General Discussion, as there is not really a proposed research project. The sharing of personal experience is pretty appropriate for GD.

I think that it is great to see such a community take interest in ours, and would love to have some of your members join us. I think an intellectual, scientifically-minded community such as yours would be a good influence. I would be interested in the prospect of collaboration and sharing works.

Though I don't know why you say "tulpaemancer" while pronouncing the plural as tulpas. Some say tulpae, but no one says tulpaemancer. Unless you understand Latin and decided that's how it should be spelled when paired with mancy, I guess.

I never liked the term 'tulpamancer' to begin with, but 'tulpaemancer' is definitely pushing it. Tulpa is not a Latin term, so Latin grammar doesn't apply, anyway. Tulpa is a Tibetan word, and the proper Tibetan plural is 's', like ours; see: lamas. However, "tulpasmancer" is almost equally incorrect, and actually sounds worse. It is surely best to stick to "tulpamancer(s)", or something else entirely.

"If this can be avoided, it should. If it can't, then it would be better if it could be. If it happened and you're thinking back to it, try and think back further. Try not to avoid it with your mind. If any of this is possible, it may be helpful. If not, it won't be."

Thanks KayTwo, great post!

I wanted to mention that we recently created a mailing list for more formal discussion than our IRC channel. We are reaching out to individuals from backgrounds including cognitive psychology, artificial intelligence development, and hardcore meditation practice.

If you are interested in discussing or researching altered states of consciousness from a scientific and academic point of view, you may wish to join the list. We already have a few PhD's subscribed, a psychologist, and a little over a dozen individuals from the AGI community.

However please keep in mind that this is a mailing list for professionals who want to discuss psychonotics in an empirical and legitimate manner. This list is not a place for casual conversation (that's our IRC channel!) or pseudoscience.

I hope to see some people there!

Aleks

The vibe I got from the tulpa article was akin to what I thought Pleeb and others had been hoping for on this site, from what they have said. Interesting site.

I have some experiences relating to imposition, it would be interesting to see whether they could be of interest.

Finding more people to interview in regard to their experiences is always useful. If you think you can stand the highly informal atmosphere of our IRC server, you might want to idle there until I or one of the PsychonautWiki staff members gets on.

Thanks!
