A while back, I was playing this rhythm game (osu) and, before I started a song, Shira asked "Wanna play together?" I wasn't sure what she meant but I said "Sure, why not". Then, as soon as the song started, the notes played REALLY slow. At first I thought this was just because of the song, but - the song itself was fast. The audio wasn't playing as slow as I was seeing the notes appear, yet they were both in sync (for those that don't understand what I mean here, the only thing I can compare that experience to is one of those "Impossible objects").

After I got my thoughts straight, I was stunned at realizing that she had just slowed down my perception of time.

After a while of trying this over and over (she said she couldn't really explain what she was doing, that it was like "moving an arm", she just "did it") I deduced that she tried to erect a "barrier" of sorts in my vision - sort of like possession, except she tried to possess my eyes and block out my vision. Since she couldn't do this, I still had the ability to see, however she still managed to "cut off" some of the incoming information, so I assumed that the delay in incoming visual information forced my brain to increase processing time so it could "fill in the gaps" so that my perception of things didn't experience any sudden stops, which, in turn, slowed down my perception of time visibly.

I mentioned this to lanpc and he later linked me a wikipedia article that talks about chronostasis, a.k.a. the "stopped clock effect" ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chronostasis ) which was eerily similar to what I had described to him.

We've been practicing it ever since, and she can pretty much slow down time perception at will for me (after practicing it so often I can do it sometimes too, without her input, though I can't slow it down as much as she does), and I've noticed this is more notable (and easier to do for her) when I'm focusing on a single thing, like playing a rhythm game, than when I'm doing something like walking outside.

I'm curious as to whether any other tulpamancers have experienced this. The second I truly understand how she does this (and have mastered it to a certain extent) I'm going to write a guide on it to see if it works for other tulpas/mancers as well, it's a really useful skill to have.

I'm also curious as to how slow one can go (dohoho), that is - there must be a certain limit, I find it hard to believe that it would be possible to create a matrix effect with this, though if it would be, that would be neat, for obvious reasons.

As of today she can sometimes sync the video and audio (also slowing down the audio, though it's far from being as slow as she can make the video) and slow things down for me at least a bit at any time of the day, but this is very tiring for her, and she can't keep a constant tempo for long. (if the slowest she can do would be 0.9x, it often fluctuates between 0.9 and 1x)

Thoughts/opinions/suggestions/ideas will be greatly appreciated.

I have never experienced anything like this! Granted I haven't been tulpamancing for very long, I'm experienced with meditation and various techniques. I've actually never heard anything quite like this, I'm very intrigued! Please do share any further developments on the subject, it sounds like something many people would want to experiment with.

How do you initiate it yourself? Do you just think 'slow down' or what is your trigger?

Have you hugged your tulpa today?

I do it differently than her, I can only do it while playing the game. Basically I just focus so much on one thing that it seems to happen slower because I'm putting all of my concentration into it (perhaps something similar to how meditation sessions seem to last longer than they actually last). I wouldn't know how to induce a chronostasis effect on myself.

If you want more information, there have been other topics about this, and this also makes an interesting read.

Thanks, I checked those two threads and it seems the second one wanted to know about something like this, I've heard about long-term time dilation but I'm not really interested in that. I'll post progress as soon as I make it.

I can create a very slight time dilation at will and without my tuppers' help, though I've yet to experience anything like what the OP mentioned.

My progress report

When it comes to people trying to build experiential truths with "time-dilation" etc., it tends for people to make up ad hocs, especially when they rather do it in short-bursts or short periods of times and not applying it in other general things they do in life. It also involves blindly going about basic laws with how time is perceived, and how altering perception of reality and mindsets is clearly an endeavor of psychosomatic self-control.

Especially when it's obvious that the mind is going make neurological connections and other psychological predispositions to cater to the person wanting to have a model of perception with time dilation or things going by a bit more slowly, faster, etc. It's really just an endeavor of channeling one's attention towards other aspects they're not aware of, and usually the reason why they might have experiences that may fit into the presumptive spectrum of time dilation is because they're reveling in so many things at once that things must be broken down structurally.

So as they're developing awareness in other aspects of life, perception, mind, body, etc. there would be some kind of competence in spatial awareness that would be increased. But either way, the experience, and people's ideas behind thinking they can use willpower and such to bend the actual reality that can be universal and seen by everyone else makes the concept of time dilation a confusing mess to filter out and get the real ideas behind it.

At most, it's just experiential learning that builds up where the person has made those predispositions (psychological, physiological, etc.) and consistent efforts in applying (doing exercises that produces the result of perception with time dilation). Which is why those people who claim to have "long-term dilation" probably just have better channeling in attention in more regions of the mind that lets them view the world in such a way.

Or they're just trying to make themselves feel special because they can alter their own perception of reality, and harbor feelings of trying to encroach their logic into applying it to what reality is presumed to be universally. So either way, it may be a pleasurable experience in terms of seeing how the human mind can create scenarios and processes to cater towards the desire with time dilation, but there's always the probabilities of the person doing it to be distracted a lot, and it would take consistent mental endurance to actually manage their time in all sorts of roles, responsibilities, hobbies, and things they do to have some tangible grip with the world.

I can talk about other things, but I'm not really that competent enough with Physics and such.

Link I have to be honest I sorta got the gist of what you were saying but not the point of it really. Did you mean that short term time dilation is not possible, the long term (3 years in 2 hours) time dilation is not possible, or that both are just illusions for the sake of entertainment?

If it were the third option I'd have to somewhat agree, though there is always that solipsistic idea of "i can't look into their mind so i can't tell if they're time dilating/having a tulpa or not/etc." that will always remain in the back of my mind. I look at it this way - it IS an illusion, and said illusion also has practical applications (like an imposed tulpa), so really, as long as one can have fun experimenting with it (and doesn't feel like a special snowflake doing so) I don't think there's anything wrong in trying.

Then again I could've completely misunderstood your post, in which case just disregard what I said.

Third option, and yeah, I apologize about the presumptions there Zero. If you're having a good time doing this and wanting to experiment, you have every right to do so, I can't control you, you have control over yourself. It's just that time dilation (in dreaming, reality, etc.) usually is just based on the alteration of perception of awareness in waking life and dreaming, and people might go beyond that spectrum a bit. But it's clear you know about this, wish you the best in your progress. :)
