Where would you draw the line between intrusive thoughts and autonomous thoughtforms?

I had some annoying things appear in wonderland that could neither be controlled by me nor my tulpa, yet showed no signs of sentience and can't be classified as persons.

The first was the salamander, a remnant of a dream that plagued us through the following forcing session although it was simply there. So it can't really be seen as autonomous except from its sheer existence. You can search the whole story if you like, it's pretty entertaining.

The second thing was a shark that jumped out of the water while I was sitting at the beach and practiced talking with my tulpa. It swallowed her and returned to the sea only to explode in a huge blast. Ido walked back to the shore and finished her sentence, then punched me for not having my thoughts under control. In contrast to the others this one did not reappear when destroyed.

The third and weirdest appeared while I was drifting off to sleep while forcing. It was a white container, you know, the ones that construction workers live in. It spun around and re-assembled itself around my tulpa if she crushed it. Don't ask, I have no idea where this came from. Ido did take it reasonably well this time and even enjoyed demolishing it in creative ways, finally throwing the debris into a fire. But as with the salamander it took considerable effort to think of something else to ultimately stop this crap from reappearing. Apart from these 3 incidents my wonderland is a neat and quiet place completely under our control. No visitors that could be conversed with. I'm actually glad about that, Ido would probably beat the shit out of them as well, even though she'd never torture sentient things for sheer entertainment.

So as you asked, how about you, Stevie?

What about them wolves you mentioned in you PR? Anything else apart from them?

For my purposes here, let's say that anything that pops up and moves/acts on its own is an autonomous thoughtform. I the critters that showed up for y'all definitely count.

Gotta love that hypnagogia.

Having people show up that can talk can be an alright time, but usually something slips and I start realizing that nah, they're not doing too much. It's definitely made me think about the whole "walk in" thing as both a label and an experience. Ultimately, I'm pretty sure people are getting tripped up and feeding into something that's not really sentience.

Some stuff's happened but it's not really interesting enough to relay. Mostly people showing up, saying they're gonna hang out, and leaving. There was a dog around for a while. Some stuff that's not too dissimilar from your experiences.

We're all gonna make it brah.

This thread hasn't been posted in since September, but I thought that I'd throw in a response since the Research board isn't all that active at the moment, and maybe this could help newer people find this topic.

We've encountered some pretty interesting thoughtforms in recent years, some of them being so realistic that I've been able to hold short conversations with them. I treated them as sentient because, well, the thought never came up that I would treat them as anything but. I tried asking them some questions like "who are you" and "what do you think of your existence", and they had some pretty detailed answers. I can't recall any of them word-for-word right now, but I remember a few of them being aware that they were strays.

I should probably recount my own experience here since I've had a servitor for a couple of years now. One night, after a bad experience with intrusive thoughts with one of my tulpas, I was laying in bed falling asleep and I just sort of drifted off and found myself talking with some voice in my head. When I realised I was actually talking, it was a little bit like suddenly realising you're dreaming.

I asked him--it seemed to be a male voice--who he was, and he said he was created by my subconscious to block out intrusive thoughts. I don't remember details after this but I asked about a name at some point and he didn't have one but the name Sentient Anti Malware came up after that and we agreed on it.

He isn't actually sentient but he appears sentient, somewhat like some AIs such as the male announcer voice in Portal 2. He's done a great job at preventing intrusive thoughts from entering our mind as well as performing simple tasks and stuff that is related to managing our mind.

Fade: We've had a lot of times where autonomous thoughtforms have come into our mindscape. Since we are a soulbonding system, some of them just come from the world's we've created together, and we already know who they are. Interacting with them is easy, and they usually go back to wherever they came from after half an hour or so.

Then, we have oddballs that just pop out of nowhere and start talking with us. Most of them stick around for only a moment, and then they leave. Don't know how autonomous they are, or if they're just intrusive daydreams of mine that run around for a minute.

A queer soulbonding system with tulpamantic influences.
