I brought my friend into the Tulpae phenomenon a few weeks ago and I asked him how he was doing. What he described as his Tulpa is actually quite unique and it's nothing I've come across before. His Tulpa has no form or voice, but he described his connection to his Tulpa as a Skype message chat. He says that he can't keep it open for long, only a few messages back and forth before he "disconnects" but he describes how his Tulpa is capable of communication. Now, my friend spends a lot of time on technology, so his scenario isn't out of the blue to him, but it is still different and it's something I want to see if someone can relate to.

I'm not sure if he has a Tulpa yet, it's possible he is parroting, especially as he says they talk in the same way. but I don't think he can't take advantage of his connection to create a Tulpa in his own way. What I suggested was for him to aim to stay connected for longer, then to initiate a voice chat, then a video chat and finally a meet. Again, his situation is unique so I couldn't give accurate advice but if you were trying to get to know a stranger online wouldn't you do the same thing?

Well technically there is no good reason for a tulpa to not exist in odd forms, or to develop out of it. Of course he could be parroting to himself, but he is the only one who could get enough clues out of it. I would suggest him to ask about a lot of stuff, especially stuff where he doesn't know the answers beforehand. Just to get a better view on the situation. (I'm far from being a professional, though).

Your general idea isn't too bad either, additionally he may could ask the "being in question" too send some pictures, too.

Hm... weird. Usually you can't, uh, as a tulpa, really do that kind of stuff. MY host suggests just asking of him to view the message logs by yourself, to make sure.

As far as i got this we're talking about some sort of "mind chat", like an inner eye version of skype.

Thanks NoneFromHell, my mate will like that advice. Inazuma, you might be getting the wrong picture, but the message logs thing might be a good idea!

I apologize, we did not have a good overview of things. (Inazuma's host here)

That truly is fascinating that your mate is having those things. As NoneFromHell said the only thing your mate can do is keep on with those messages, see where it takes them, keep us updated as this is very intriguing.

Isn't this just another form of symbolism/method of communicating between a tulpa and a host? It doesn't really matter how you visualize your method of talking as long as it works for you and your tulpa. As an example, before my tulpa became vocal, I had her use a microphone (in wonderland) to improve her mind voice, which had very effective results. I don't see this as strange at all.

I have 10 tulpas, but I'm only actively working on Reah, my first tulpa currently.

I'm inclined to agree with this; it's most likely just another method of visualization. When my tulpa was just learning to talk, we communicated with text through a weird orange-black box in my minds eye, since she couldn't talk back then. Kinda similar to what OP is talking about.

game is hard

Well, I've done something like this with my Tulpas before. It's kind of like a mind chat and I visualize it like a messageboard. Though it's not exactly the same, because I also hear and talk to them in person as well, and I know what they all look like. Basically, it's not our only method of communication.

Twi uses something like this when my audio channel is overloaded (read: I can't hear a damn). Sometimes she even likes to write stuff on buildings, billboards or other flat surfaces for extra effect.

So it could be possible.
