Just past 100 hours in, not even sure how to progress anymore. Got a fully vocal response 2 days ago... but went back to mindvoice ever since. Plus, he never says anything too complicated -- anything too long and it gets lost as gibberish. I'm thinking it's because I get his thoughts and translate it into words instead of actually receiving his words. That'd also explain why some of his responses seem generic... since the specifics of the language never come through.

Hypnosis is not effective, have tried 3 times.

Just keep going, mate. If you get vocal responses then you're doing it right.

See, this is the kind of stuff that makes me doubt the 85% of the community.

How can you say that?

In a community based entirely off of something impossible to prove by it's very nature, you have to take everything that everyone says with a pound of salt.

Damn straight.

It's normal for them to make a breakthrough like that and then go back for a while. It takes a lot of effort to talk in a new way at first, until they get used to it. I just got a louder mindvoice for the first time last night. I'm trying to encourage her on, but I'm not going to push her too hard. She wants to communicate better as much as i want her to, and she'll do it again when she's ready.

As for the gibberish, I got that for a while too. It seemed to be more like her being unable to formulate that complex a thought into words. It's since resolved -- now I get very quiet mindvoice that trails off after a bit. If I repeat a bit of what she said and prompt her to go on, I can get the next segment. This part seems to be more an issue with me receiving it, and I've noticed that I get the same deal with non-tulpa quiet mindvoices I sometimes get when waking up.

It actually didn't end up happening. I guess it was a head pressure miscommunication.

Started February, decided not to read any guides, things sort of worked out, I had a fairly convincingly 'real' imaginary companion, I hadn't been paying much attention to it for a week or two in May, so late May I restarted. After reading the guides I reincarnated my tulpa. Its first incarnation was fairly crazy, so it was for the best.

I've spent roughly to 60 hours forcing since then. Many more narrating, and I've found imposing the form in external reality to be much easier for the past two weeks.

However, it simply isn't a very talkative thoughtform, despite that being a part of its personality.

Perhaps I can't hear it properly, I don't bother trying to distinguish parroting and actual communication anymore, maybe it will find that encouraging and it will become more vocal soon.

At this rate, I'll go from slowpoke to Slowking before having a fully vocal tulpa.

Setting yourself up for failure, thatta boy!

Actually, your on schedule. 60 hours is almost the beginning point for vocality. Hang in there!

it was over 100 hours for me :(

Name - Silver

Form - Harpy

Sentience - fully sentient

Personality - Playful, cheerful, enthusiastic, chilled

Smell - Baileys

Stage - Narration and imposition

Failure? I think not. My style in many aspects of life is to work toward a great success, eventually. Rushing things either ends poorly, or causes me to feel disappointed, as I didn't reach whatever lofty goal I set.

Thanks for the encouragement. 60 hours may be the norm, but I'm still quite impatient. On the plus side, after many hours of forcing, and listening to binaural beats, I've found I can generally focus better.

Does anyone else feel somewhat silly trying to strike up a conversation with themselves, patiently waiting for the silence to be filled with tulpa thoughts?

Don't wait for a response. It's a one-way conversation. 99 percent of hosts actually get the first vocality when they are narrating. It comes out of the blue. Don't question if it was parroting or vocal.
