Tulpa Perception, Cognition and Memory

If you ever get a chance to stick your head into an fMRI, do it.

If I ever have the opportunity to do so, I'll take it. Hopefully, I can gain access to it as well so I can do multiple scans of my head and thus do some experiments. That might be pushing it, but we'll see.

I have 10 tulpas, but I'm only actively working on Reah, my first tulpa currently.

I feel that if anyone in this community becomes rich and famous, they will buy an fMRI machine and provide transport for us to use it and provide legitimatimacy to our science for(u)m.

That would be great. I feel eventually it will come to meet modern psychology. More and more people bring up tulpas to their therapists and psychologists, so eventually it will get enough attention for legitimate study. Or a tulpamancer will become a psychologist, as I'm sure there're quite a few in this community alone.

Or we tell no one and become the edgy kids standing in the corner, talking to our ponies and blaming the world for not understanding us. Who knows, I'm not a clairvoyant.

Right now, I'm taking Neuroscience as my major. I'm still a freshman, so I'm getting the GEs out of the way, but I'll be able to put a lot more down onto the table in a couple years.

Great!

Uhm, why didn't you tell me about Cartesian Dualism?

SLACKER! LOL

I can only cringe so hard, please stop.

That's an example of what we DON'T want.

Honesly, the best way is to be like me and feel you have nothing to hide and that you are proud, intelligent, sane and articulate about it. Everyone knows I have a thoughtform. At first they thought it was a little weird yes. But I simply explained things in detail and explained how Melian is part of a larger imaginary world related to my art and dreams. They take it as quirky artistic expression, but few think I have mental issues (outside of my mother and sister). Well, at least no one is openly saying so or whispering about me in corners and edging away. People merrily greet me in the morning and ask how Melian is doing. A few have been curious enough to ask me about thoughtforms and tulpas in more detail.

Pony cringe. But yes, yes, I agree.

We're sort of in that weird, fun stage where no one knows entirely what's happening, but we're running with it anyway. Somewhere between throwing science at the wall and detailed experimentation. I'll like to see where it goes regardless.

I want to point out what you said in the leaving thread: A "Additional consciousness" is possible!

This consciousness is what we loosely call a mind around here, so if you refer to "two seperated minds" we're basically talking about two different conscious beings sharing the same body, and therefore the same brain, like you described. I wouldn't call it blended, though. Collaboration is a better term. From the perspective of neuroscience this is pretty much it. But i think they don't have in mind (hehe) that two or more conscious beings could use this brain in a collaborated way. How would you describe that? You would need to turn the whole thing around for it to work. The brain is hosting two different cores processing information.

I could put in computer terms: You simply upgraded from a single core processor to a dual core processor, you still just have one CPU controlling the PC.

I can try to explain this, too.

In Minecraft, there's a mod called OpenComputers. Each tulpa created is like that. You are the actual computer running Minecraft. Over time, you gather enough resources and manage to build a computer case. (Interest in tulpas) You still need stuff to use it, though, otherwise it's just another block, and you need power (knowing it exists) too. So you go off and craft an EEPROM with the Lua BIOS (personality/name) and stick it in. Still nothing. So then, you make a graphics card (form) and put it in. Well, nothing. So you decide to make a hard drive and some RAM (memories). However, the computer still fails to run. So, you put in the last piece. A CPU (consciousness). Hey! Your computer wo... Oh wait, you need a screen (imposition, wonderland) too. Now, you turn it on... And it runs!

This computer (your tulpa) is running from your main computer (your brain). You also have the option to make more computers (multiple tulpas). You can also put different cards into the computers to have them do different things.

Now, in addition to power (knowing it exists), you need to also code (force) it. If you code well (through practice and google), you could make an intelligent self-learning AI (a tulpa), but if you're not a good coder, or you only really need it for one reason alone, you can create a simple task-completing machine (a servitor).

I almost feel like having a tulpa is like splitting your own consciousness to see things from another perspective, and later the consciousness that you split up that was your own becomes an entirely different and separate entity and it gains the ability to split itself as well.

Because in the case of me and White, our senses are linked and we can see and even mess with each others memories. He's still very attached and dependent on me though. If I were to die then White would die with me, unless he became so independent and detached from me that he was entirely his own entity (that's just a theory) that he actually can survive without me. And of course either he or I can create another tulpa at any moment. I think the same type of thing can happen with worlds and landscapes as well, except you can just imagine them and they're there. I mean, you can lucid dream and imagine a landscape and it can be real as anything else.

What if that was how the whole world was created?

That could probably be a whole other thread, back on the original topic and like I said before, me and White completely share senses and memory. Our memory is kind of like cloud storage, like all of White's memories are in one folder and mine in another folder. As far as I know now we can mess with each other's memories, but we never bother to because who knows what the consequences of that would be. As far as senses go, if White wants to he can tap into mine for whatever reason (just to taste food usually) Or I can tap into his just to see if I can.

So that's my two cents on everything.
