I have not made a tulpa or soulbond of a character that I have seen in the work of another. However, when we write, sometimes the subject of the writing stays around for a short time, as... something not as developed as a tulpa. A while back I wrote a creepypasta. A character from that creepypasta stayed around for a time, behaving consistently with the character as written, but wasn't particularly persistent over time. So the answer is not really, but something possibly related is sometimes within our experience.

Ok, look, I know. I'm necro-ing this thread. And I'm probably bringing something that's been beaten to hell and beyond back.

But this is important, and I feel that this really isn't being pointed out enough.

Basing your tulpa off of a character is something that a lot of people should be careful about. No, there isn't anything wrong with basing their form/personality when you first start, but there is something wrong when you expect them to stay that way or act the way the character you based them off of does.

Being "infatuated" with a character and starting to create a tulpa in that state is something that can really mess you up in the long run, and I believe that it isn't being brought up enough here. A lot of people who come here lurk and an important part of them also happen to be young. Not mentioning this every once in a while is doing more harm to the community than good.

As for the OP, well.. Everyone already said what should have been said, but I'm just going to point it out again.

I have plenty of "evil" characters that I.. Obsess over? Passionately love? I don't know what you'd like to call it.

You underestimate "evil". "Evil" is not some person going around kidnapping people, evil is not just a baseless lust to kill, evil is not some word you can paint pink and put sprinkles on.

"Evil" goes way, way deep into the human pyche. "Evil" has too many connections with other factors. You can't get a person, magically "take" the evil out of them and keep the rest.

If you really do think that's possible, then you've missed the whole point. It's not the person you're fascinated with, you're just lusting over their sugar-coated, pop-culture based behaviour.. And their sexy looks.

I'm ranting, but you get the point.

Think long and hard before you decide on something as important as this.

I'm quoting this because it really deserves emphasis. My first tulpa WAS evil, so I can speak from experience. Its really isn't a quirk, or a character trait you can try to "fix". When a character/tulpa/person is evil, all of the things they think and do that make the rest of the world cringe, makes them happy. You can't just change something that's intrinsic to someone's very nature, that changes who they are completely as a person.

That tulpa I mentioned, I ended up being forced to dissipate her for the sake of my own mental health, and I feel guilty about it every day.

Don't set yourself or your tulpa up for a situation like that. :<

Exactly.

Everyone can be "bad" or "immoral" on varying degrees. People can show psychopathic behaviour in certain situations. But being "evil", and really "evil", that's a completely different thing.

To even further rant about this: if you're basing your tulpa off of a so-called evil character, that means there's a backstory behind them, more often than not. (Hint: If they don't, they are very likely shallow and just sit there to fill the necessary requirement for that "Holy shit this person is a cold-blooded killer but they also look really good OMG" part of the story.)

The most well-known serial killers were abused while they were young. Take Edmund Kemper for example. He was abused by his sisters, mother, and was abondoned by his father due to divorce while he was a kid. Let's say this is the case.

This would mean you're also forcing a horrible, broken past onto your tulpa. This would mean more than just romanticiziced bad boy/girl act that you've probably fallen for. How could anyone want this for anyone?

As you've probably understood by now, I like to immerse myself in these kind of psyches to understand these characters or to emphatise with them. Basing my tulpa off of one of these people would only make the process easier for me, because I'd have known what they were going to turn out like. I'd have a way more stable personality in mind and I would have already probably tackled vocality down by now, but I purposefully chose the other way round.

I'm not telling this to boast, I'm telling this to alert people of the dangers, and you tactfully put it..

..And this is the kind of result you will probably end up with. I don't know if my words mean anything Drakaina, but you've come a long way. More the power to you.
