I chose the first option, for reasons I've talked about before. I'm going to agree with Lumi on the "it's a bit unfair" part, but eh, we'll have to wait and see if people have reasons that aren't mentioned in this poll. Maybe then we'll be seeing some interesting perspectives.

I'm SomethingDire, and Céleste is my partner in crime.

For what it's worth, and hope people get the reference:

She made me feel like I belonged. And all the sadness inside me melted like I was free.

A wise man once said: 'Before judging a man, walk a mile in his shoes. After that, who cares? He's a mile away, and you've got new shoes.'

Graced are those who could avoid this phenomenon. This is perhaps the worst expression of evil in humanity's history, but who am I to judge?

'Went ahead and ticked everything except for the sexual desires thing. I unintentionally made my first tulpa to cope with my issues, and it worked, so I've always seen that as being the major benefit in our case. For the rest, it was more about companionship.'

Mistgod and I always have another agenda behind my threads. These help me. They help my host. We are either seeking to learn something or to say something (a message). This thread made me feel really, very happy. The thing about it that I like is everyone had something amazing to say about how important their tulpas are. AND this is the best part, I am every bit as important, and I have ever bit the benefits and every bit the reasons for existing as any tulpa for any host. It's a good thread and meant for everyone, but that was my ulterior motive on this particular one. When it comes to thoughtforms, levels of independence and the ability to perform specific tricks of visualization and autonomy are not at all what is important in the end. I mean that's nice and great and all, but at least as far as the creator of the tulpa is concerned, it is the joy and happiness and fulfillment the tulpa brings. And I do that plenty, plenty, plenty.

Thank you all you dear, wonderful tulpas and hosties for your responses!

I'm not voting until you add an "all of the above" option.

Edit: Oops, I can add multiple options.

Silly Brassow, you can choose all of the above by voting on all of them yesh. Oooooh, that is pretty cool that you get all the benefits!

I ticked "help in emotional coping". The main reason I started creating Isa was to give my emotional mind (what I've come to affectionately call the "Kirk Mind") a voice. I operate too heavily with my rational mind (or my "Spock Mind"), and needed help forming a balance. I already have a history of not listening to my own brain, so by giving my brain a life of it's own, it can give me a kick in the pants when I need one. ^^;

I also ticked the first option, because I feel like no matter what else you may have checked, the first option would be a given side effect. You'vr creating another sentience in your head that will share that brain, and possibly body, with you for the rest of your life (barring any tragic circumstances). This seems pretty profound and life changing, and should carry great personal meaning. :P
