Vampire October 15, 2016 October 15, 2016 A whiteboard explanation would actually be really good imo. I however lack a whiteboard. tulpa001 October 15, 2016 October 15, 2016 Plurality, or just tulpas? I think the plurality community is much larger, and probably already has some videos. Host comments in italics. Tulpa's log. Tulpa's guide.

Hidari October 16, 2016 October 16, 2016 I can help with text animation, I think an info graphic minimalist style would work very well for something like this. I have After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop, but I'm somewhat lacking in the vector field. Although I do like the idea of a whiteboard explanation, which would erase the need for animation. If you need lower thirds, or anything like that, I'd be happy to help.

Hidari October 18, 2016 October 18, 2016 Like, if you cut to an interview, a small animation on the bottom corner showing the person's username or any other information. Basically just text animations to accompany video.
jean-luc October 22, 2016 Author October 22, 2016 TL;DR is below List of people who've offered to help and what they can do: Me, I can edit audio and do very baisic animations and video editing. I have a nice microphone and can narrate if need be. I also already have a mumble server, if that's needed.ClianthaMiura has opinions and personal experiences to offer.Vampire could possibly do interviews and post them.Floh has a microphone and a voice, and a pretty decent webcam as well. Also says they would be OK to edit such a monster [a documentary].Tulpa001 can be a scriptwriter or editor.Tobber has a fancy microphone and would love to do voice acting, and "The editor inside me would love to help out with production"Hidari can offer lower thirds, "Like, if you cut to an interview, a small animation on the bottom corner showing the person's username or any other information. Basically just text animations to accompany video. " I think that's everyone so far. If I've missed anyone, or anything they said they can do, please tell me. The next step is to decide what style of production it will be. The way I see it, the only feasible option is a short (3-15 minute) video narrating about the subject with animations. Who will take the initiative? I will! ... if no one else does in like the next month or five when I've cleared other stuff off my plate. I think I could do every part of that by myself, but I'll try to post as much source content as possible so that when I inevitably abandon the project at some point, someone else can continue it. However, I have other projects at the moment. For now: - Do you have a really good reason why a different format should be done and a good idea how to get it done within the next 10 years? Post away! - Assuming I start writing a script next month or someone starts it for me (Tulpa001?), What should be in the script? What shouldn't be in the script? I think the script should include a simple explanation of tulpas (obviously) and a short history of how they came about. I think the script should not include some words such as "tulpamancer", which just sound rediculous if you've never heard them before. I could also see an argument for omitting the fact that it started on 4chan. Also, the licensing issue should be dealt with; I think it makes sense to release everything under a Creative Commons license. There are a few options to pick from, and I could try and explain them here, but I think CC's license chooser does it better. If any of you do decide to work on really anything at all (script writing, video editing, voice work, etc), please post your work here in a way that is somehow accessible, at regular intervals so that if you stop working on it, someone else can continue where you left off. TL;DR People who've offered to do things are compiled in a list aboveI think a short video is the only feasible idea.I will start writing a script if no one else does in a month or five. What should and what shouldn't go in the script?Which license should we use? tulpa001 October 22, 2016 October 22, 2016 I can only write a script if you send me a rough draft of any quality. Otherwise, I have no idea what I'm doing. This is mainly because I need a feel for how everyone should be talking, and what is supposed to be said at what times. I am also not sure how well I can time a script to a segment. I also offered to make one complex CG graphic. It is important to note that my system is very different from an animator here so: I don't have the tools to export the animation to a video format. If you have screen capture technology, I can send you an application, or it will take me a while to figure it out. Also no people. I don't do people or animals. Just geometric and textual stuff.
