If you are having trouble concentrating you might consider making a visual representation of the personality. Probably the reason you can only force for 10 minutes is that your mind isn't used to the sensory deprivation you subject it to when you focus on something that you can't see.

The solution to that is to make something that you can see; an orb, a bubble, whatever. Or you could make a wonderland for you to hang out in while you force. Those things will probably allow you stay focused for longer.

Also, you can do multiple traits in one session. It's probably a good idea to do that, actually, because then it's easier to link them together.

Example?

"Hello, Octavia. Now we're going to explore how intelligence augments your personality. Because you are intelligent, you analyze things and try to understand what is around you. You draw from past experiences to make decisions about what you see. Your intelligence makes you logical, and because of that you sometimes come across as withdrawn and cold."

etc, etc. If you are having trouble coming up with enough detail, http://tulpa.info/guides/faqman-trait-template.html

Anywhere from 15 minutes up is generally considered an effective forcing session; but remember, if you feel like you made progress, then you probably did.

Im taking "babysteps". Anyway, Im trying to avoid the whole visualisation until it comes on my list (after personality). Im just sitting or whatever and trying to generate a feel of my tulpa close to me (like beside me, I figured that works the best for me) without visualising her next to me. I think this works. Also, Im doing personality more or less the same as your example, but I just kinda ran out of things to say. Been thinking about it more, gonna revisit things that I feel needs more work. Anyway, thanks for the advice.

I think just going over words upon words doesn't really help that much. Obviously it works, for some people, but people are not the same. Personally what I did/do is I made a little list of 5 major traits then branched them out into 4 minor traits, totalling 25. I then did what Albatross did and talked about them and how they influenced my tulpa.

After I was done, all I felt like I had achieved was learning off a list of words. Whenever I saw my tulpa, I never really got a feeling that anything had sunk in. So I dropped it and went on to visualisation.

This is where I think Irish took his method from. Since forming a face and body etc, I have come to know my tulpa more intimately than when I was talking to it about itself. I would go as far to say she's grown more in the visualisation step than in the personality phase.

I think it worked like a doll, or toy. If you hang out with it enough you create a character around it, what you like/need. The personality forms from that.

So I say to anyone who thinks they are messing up the personality- don't worry, finish up, then move onto visualisation. The more time you spend with your tulpa, the more attached you get, and thus the more rounded it becomes. This also helps it deviate.
