Me and my tulpa, Ed, have been trying to figure out if he can enter my dreams, or perhaps pull me out of one and into the wonderland, and we've been having little success. our biggest issue so far has been lack of information on the subject, according to Ed. So, we would like to hear about your experiences with dreams and tulpae, and what we can do to increase our success. so far, we have 3 major questions we need the answer to:

1. how does a tulpa enter a host's dream?

2. how hard is it to find the host in the dream, and how is it done?

3. how can a tulpa convince a host that he is dreaming, i.e. induce lucidity?

your feedback is much appreciated.

I guess most regular members would expect me to answer questions like this. I'm the resident lucid dreaming expert, especially since Melian and Mistgod are gone. Problem is I'm a bit of a killjoy because my beliefs about stuff like this are all really strict and logical. So, "pull me out of one and into the wonderland" to me would just be taking control of the lucid dream and changing the scenario to your wonderland.

As for tulpas in dreams, I like to say that by default they're "asleep"/"dreaming" like you are, so they might not be quite themselves until you've "woken them up" or made them lucid too. But even that's symbolic to me, but oh well. So with decent dream control you'd be able to make whatever you want appear, and that includes your tulpa(s). If you don't have really good mental discipline for stuff like that ie in this case have trouble with dream control, I suggest doing things that trick your expectations into working for you. If you can't summon your tulpa right in front of you, go to your wonderland and expect to see them somewhere they'd normally be. Works pretty well from what I know. For getting there in the first place, if you can't directly change the scenario (I'm not even sure I could), expecting a door to lead to it is good. I actually materialized a door to my wonderland right behind me once, free standing in the air, worked totally fine. Helps that I have a place in our wonderland house that such a door would lead to.

And as for tulpas helping induce lucidity, I personally only see that as a conduit for remembering to become lucid, akin to creating dream signs. As for others with differing beliefs, I most often hear that the tulpa is unable to get through to their sleeping host, either because they can't enter the dream or they can't "make their host listen". Couldn't tell you exactly what those mean. But I have heard of one or two systems supposedly having tulpas induce lucidity, so, I won't say it can't happen. I still just see it as creating a dream sign plus the expectation for it to appear in your dreams, just with your tulpa(s). Unfortunately for me, my brain seems very against having my tulpas in my dreams, it's happened nearly zero times in seven years. I've got a thread I post in daily about those endeavors..

So anyways, take that as a "skeptic's" advice I guess. I don't personally believe in tulpas actually interacting with the subconscious mind directly or being awake while their hosts are asleep, or anything of that nature. Not that it isn't possible, just that there's unfortunately more boring mechanics behind those things. But who says it matters how you think about those things? I encourage ways of thinking that make people happy or that they find fun. I'm just saying I can't give advice in a way that I don't even think in.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

Me and my tulpa, Ed, have been trying to figure out if he can enter my dreams, or perhaps pull me out of one and into the wonderland, and we've been having little success. our biggest issue so far has been lack of information on the subject, according to Ed. 3. how can a tulpa convince a host that he is dreaming, i.e. induce lucidity?

your feedback is much appreciated.

1. Yes, tulpas can enter dreams, and they seem to do so by just focusing on entering your mind while you're asleep. I find I can do the same thing with my girls as well, so it's not a one way street or anything.

2. Seems to vary by the dream, some of them have small "levels" where the tulpa can find you relatively easily, others are massive and it may take them some time to locate you. Of course, they can bend the dream to their will, but without adequate practice in lucid dreaming that's likely to destabilize things and wake you up. Luna used to do that but opted instead to just wander in my dreams and hope we cross paths at some point.

3. The tulpa can instruct the host to do a reality check with questions such as "How did you get here?" Basically all the usual lucid dreaming methods are fair game.

My progress report

Your mind is an abstract space with no concept of location. Consequently, you can find another person in your mind by simply realising they are there.

One important thing to realise is that the idea of two separate dreams is unusual. It can happen theoretically. But far more likely is that only one of you dreams or you share a dream. The matter then simply reduces to inviting the other person to claim part of the dream as their own. Other than that I have nothing to add.
