MisterTelecaster August 8, 2012 August 8, 2012 If you and your tulpa have the same taste in music, was it because of you, or did your tulpa develop those likes entirely on their own? And for those that listened to music while forcing, did the music you listened to while forcing influence your tulpa's tastes any more than music that you listened to in general situations? For example, if you had a favorite song to listen to specifically to help you relax and clear your mind for that you would listen to while forcing, does your tulpa like that song? If they like it, is it because of you listening to it all the time while working to create them, or again, did they develop an affinity for that song purely by coincidence? Ban me if I ever mention Telecasters again.
QB2 August 8, 2012 August 8, 2012 QB mostly seems to either enjoy or tolerate all the music I like, so I guess he picked something up from me. But he also has his own tastes, some of which I hadn't even heard much of before he was born. The above post does not contain facts. q2's the host, QB's the tulpa.
Guest Anonymous August 8, 2012 August 8, 2012 She enjoys all the music I enjoy, but she also deviated and enjoys some indie rock(a la In the Aeroplane Over the Sea) , which is basically as far from my music taste as you can go without entering the depths of shitcore/speedcore. She also enjoys French House, which I never once gave a listen to in the past, but remain neutral on. Oddly enough I believe she is influencing my tastes to a degree. I suppose it's not far fetched since her enjoyment of music I don't normally listen to just means some part of my subconscious enjoys it. But I never once listened to indie rock or French house for more than a second before turning it off, but now I don't mind it too much, although I don't actively listen to it unless she wants to. It'll be interesting to see how my interest in certain genres progresses as she develops.
glitchthe3rd August 8, 2012 August 8, 2012 Luna seems to only like some of the same subgenres of techno that I do, but it's safe to say I influenced her to some extent. "Science isn't about why, science is about why not?" -Cave Johnson Tulpae: Luna, Elise, Naomi My progress report
Wireless August 8, 2012 August 8, 2012 I tried to influence my tulpa as much as I could to like the same music I do (since it's a really important aspect of my life). Looks like she didn't take it seriously, but doesn't reject any music I hear tho. She just stays here and listens, nothing out of the usual. http://wirelesslog.tumblr.com/ - My tulpa blog, updates regularly.
WireframeRabbit August 8, 2012 August 8, 2012 My tulpa loves pretty much the same exact music I listen to and gets into songs just as much as I do.
Chupi August 8, 2012 August 8, 2012 Lyra seems to like what I play for her, which is the music I like. I haven't experimented with showing her new kinds of music yet. I did seem to get a particularly positive reaction from one song that I used the musicbox version of on repeat for a while during her development. FigN01 August 8, 2012 August 8, 2012 My tulpa likes music with a heavy emphasis on guitar playing, some of it harder rock than I normally listen to. Otherwise, anything with high energy gets him interested. I should hunt for new music with him more often though.
MisterTelecaster August 9, 2012 Author August 9, 2012 Music is a pretty big part of my life, so I wondered how it affected other people's tulpae, and how it could possibly affect mine once she is finished Not that I was worried something bad would happen, I was just curious to hear from others Ban me if I ever mention Telecasters again.
optimusjamie August 9, 2012 August 9, 2012 I'm not sure. She did seem to enjoy the Meat Loaf I played when I was creating the wonderland but I normally listen to power metal (i.e. Blind Guardian & Rhapsody), so I'll have to try her out on that at some point. My blog
