I do think it was real, because now I realize that just talking to my tulpa as if she was there was in fact a type of forcing technique. So, I accidentally created a nascent tulpa and, after reading a guide, started feeling this weird bubbling in my head. Which then freaked me out and lead to the prayer, which inadvertently sent a flood into my wonderland. Like, the act of me praying was sort of OCD thing, like trying to "cleanse" my mind of evil. That was represented as a flood.

I still find it a pretty amazing experience. I have not really continued developing my tulpa, but I think she's probably still around. I talk to her a little sometimes.

I do not believe that your experience was a factual event that happened in the past or anything like that, but it makes sense that it could be you processing something and that experience was a metaphor or symbolism.

I don't see it as wrong to associate her with a more religious theme if that's helpful for you. If you want her to have a "chibi" form, I don't see any problem with that unless she tells you she wants something else. Spending more time with her will help her develop and become more stable too.

If it's helpful, you can pray for or with your Tulpa. That may help you remember to think about her and talk to her more often. You can also use your wonderland to talk to her by imagining her at a place or by that pillar area you mentioned before. Maybe you too could ride a boat together or something.

Note: I'm hit-or-miss activity-wise on this account. I may not respond to PMs for awhile.

I'm Ranger, GrayTheCat's cobud (tulpa), and I love hippos! I also like cake and chatting about stuff. I go by Rosalin or Ronan sometimes. You can call me Roz but please don't call me Ron.

My other headmates have their own account now, but it's outdated and I can't be bothered to update it

If I missed seeing your art, please PM/DM me!

What I mean is, I think I had a genuine tulpa experience as it seemed to happen without any mental input.

There are several checks that need to occur before you can conclusively say you had a tulpa. One of them is accepting it, in that you are willing to support it. If that check fails, or any other, it will not be a tulpa. To truly be a 'tulpa' you will need reinforcement time to set that bond, imagine it like glue. I've read, and i believe, this takes weeks or more.

So i wouldn't put much credibility in it. Now if you had a surprise like that and kept them, surely they could become a tulpa. Honestly though, i bet i could turn the notion of an old lamp into a tulpa at this point.

Nascent i believe (as in potential), an actual tulpa i don't believe. An on the spot character, surely, a soulbond, not even that. I've said this a lot recently, if i accepted every character that seemed like a nascent tulpa in my wonderland, we would be legion. If i accepted every soulbond that i've spent months if not years creating and interacting with as a tulpa. We would number 3 dozen, instead of 3, on top of that, even 3 is too many.

Why isn't a well defined sentient-seeming soulbond a tulpa? Simply because i don't want them to be, i haven't accepted them as such, thus they never will be. It is entirely within your purview to make that choice, even if they express the desire and show will to be a tulpa, if you don't accept then the glue will never set. At the same time the nascent may never fade, so keep them in stasis unless you have the rock solid understanding that they will be a soulbond or character only. Under those conditions only is it safe to interact with them. You will necessarily puppet them to some degree forever, always communicate clearly to them and 'give' them the desire not to be a tulpa.

I’m going to put out a different opinion here, though I must admit I only read the first and last pages of the thread. :’) That was definitely a genuine tulpa experience.

Most people have to put in a lot of work to achieve a sentient tulpa, and that’s fine. But for me, Tess was sentient and came to me without any volition of my own. Shortly after that I looked up “sentient imaginary friend” on Google and I found this website. Now, after that I had to start exerting significant effort to keep her with me, and I went ahead and started forcing to solidify her. It’s been way too long and I still haven’t finished imposition (mainly due to short active forcing sessions) but she’s definitely here and 100% a full tulpa.

So I guess what I’m saying is: I believe your intuition is correct, and that is a tulpa. Now, just build off of what you already have, and keep forcing from there. Don’t fall for the puppet-paranoia trap; it’s going to feel like your own thoughts at first just because you both share the same headspace. And if you truly feel that your tulpa is sentient then she/he probably is.

I have diagnosed OCD as well, so please let me know if you’re still experiencing issues with that.

Edit: I glanced through the second page. Of course you’re imagining it! While I most certainly believe that tulpae are real, you perceive them through your imagination. Therefore, any interaction is imagination (depending on your definition). Don’t over-analyze it! :)

Currently restarting visualization in order to get it down perfectly.

Progress log (haven't used it in a while, but still forcing)
