Xarbern October 20, 2018 October 20, 2018 My tulpa changed to Robert McNamara once just for fun. Try teaching them shape-shifting. Killing someone because they don't look like the way you want is just wrong but I understand what you are saying. Could you be dealing with "walk-ins?" Then you could just take a break and ignore them before they get sentient if you don't want that. If they're intentional, which I suppose they are, you'd better teach them shape-shifting or just change their forms manually. You could always try to change your mindset. May be difficult for some people but meditation seems to to the trick. Hello. I'm Xar, and I'm the original host of this system. I share this head with Matsuri and Kurisutina. Guest October 20, 2018 October 20, 2018 I heard of a fictive tulpa being interpreted as a "method actor" so the host could watch the fictive's origin character without feeling weird about it. Perhaps, think of your tulpa as "a tulpa who acts and looks like this artist", not as exactly the artist. They aren't exactly the artist, no matter how they look. Perhaps give them a new name or a nickname. And, as has already been pointed out, "feeling awkward" is not a very good reason to "get rid" of a tulpa. -J This is generally what happens anyway, unless the tulpa diverges further.
Ember.Vesper October 22, 2018 October 22, 2018 Vesper: I don't think appearance is really the key component of a thoughtform being a factive. My form comes from an Instagram model Ember chose as a character reference photo long before I was self-aware. We still go to her stream sometimes to help with visualization, but she's just a woman who resembles me, rather than having anything to do with who I am. I'm pretty sure having some part of the personality or identity an out-system person, at least at first, is the most important part of being a factive. A tulpa changing away from a form that makes their headmates uncomfortable sounds generally reasonable. But in this case, my six months late viewpoint is the OP could just as easily reframe their thinking to associate two similar appearances with two different people. Ember: I had to ponder why I didn't react with the same immediate horror as some other posters over "get rid of them". Eventually I determined that, since just getting rid of them was on the table, I had implicitly assumed that Bud's "no effort" walk-ins were not self-aware. I'm not having fun here anymore, so we've decided to take a bit of a break, starting February 27, 2020. - Ember Ember - Soulbonder, Female, 39 years old, from Georgia, USA . . . .
