Huh... we never concluded this thread.

Back in June of 2019, we decided that our other headmates were in fact tulpas. (We don't call them "the Grays" anymore, they don't like being referred to that) Ever since, they joined our system and we operated as a large system ever since.

We decided this after giving our headmates a chance to talk to someone else privately. We realized they were not only self-aware, but they remembered stuff from the past and were upset and confused. For us, letting them join the system made things a lot easier. I think the most convincing thing for us was if we had more tulpas, we wanted our hedamates and not someone new.

I think the ultimate answer to the question "What do I do about an advanced thoughtform?" is you get to decide where the line is. Writers, roleplayers, and character creators will have to find their own way of defining what is a tulpa and what is a character. If the line seems to be wrong or make you uncomfortable, you may need to move it. I would go with whatever definition makes the most sense to you and go from there. Even if you're wrong, the worst that will happen is now you know what to do now.

There isn't a once sized fits all right answer to this question. It will ultimately vary from system to system, and what one system may define as a tulpa another system may not. Some systems have different rules about how many thoughtforms are allowed to walk around, who is allowed to walk around, and who can be with who. We decided to keep our headmates and Gray's actual story characters separate, Gray doesn't talk to his characters while he talks to us, and we have kept our doors shut to any new potential headmates because our system is big enough and slowly shrinking.

I think it took us a really long time for us to come to a decision, and I think the truth is our discomfort was the biggest sign our line wasn't drawn correctly. Another thing is lines can move over time, and in the past Gray's line was more strict than it was even before the start of this thread.

Note: I'm hit-or-miss activity-wise on this account. I may not respond to PMs for awhile.

I'm Ranger, GrayTheCat's cobud (tulpa), and I love hippos! I also like cake and chatting about stuff. I go by Rosalin or Ronan sometimes. You can call me Roz but please don't call me Ron.

My other headmates have their own account now, but it's outdated and I can't be bothered to update it

If I missed seeing your art, please PM/DM me!
