Switching kind of happened without trying to switch, but then we tried to try and it still took us a month to figure that indeed that's what was happening. In fact, then it would happen when we didn't want it to and I remember putting up a sign in mindspace to prevent Ashley from switching in.

I’m not feeling comfortable with any of this. it's usually considered extremely bad system etiquette to do things your host is (or often, even your tulpas are) uncomfortable with without consulting them, though some systems seem to do it just as a sort of "fun" imo (but also because their separate-ness just works like that). You REALLY shouldn't have to worry about your tulpa doing things you didn't want them to while switched, especially if you've talked about things a lot and you both have an understanding of what you're okay with like, our system tends to front for weeks or even months at a time and we all handle things in basically the same ways, because Lumi is still our host and we consider it his life that we are just sharing. There ARE systems that consider it a shared life between them and other such things (like different systemmates having their own separate parts of the life, I know at least one tulpa who had their own job!), but basically you should be able to work out (or dictate to) your tulpa what exactly you're okay with also I feel like a lot of fear of switching is only relevant to people without developed tulpas yet, like, they're "afraid of what their tulpa might decide to do"... which just isn't really a thing with developed tulpas, 'cus like you literally KNOW them and what they will decide to do lol. Stuff like what Bear mentioned (which is rare anyways) only happens because Bear allows that system dynamic in the first place Hi, I'm one of Lumi's tulpas! I like rain and dancing and dancing in the rain and if there's frogs there too that's bonus points.
