Mister_Moniker November 7, 2012 November 7, 2012 Honestly, I just cannot force with music on. I just get too involved in whats playing and lose focus on Helix and Pixel. I have the same trouble. Tones and binaurals usually work since I can shrug them off as background noise. Anything that has a distinct melody or lyrics, though...not so much. Moniker, Dream and the ensuing hilarity
Ginyu November 8, 2012 November 8, 2012 I just started with my tulpa last week, and I usually try and listen to music while forcing. It's mostly for blocking out everyone else due to my house being kind of small and it's hard to find some quiet, but depending on the song, it helps me force. I usually listen to any genre of electric, but I focus heavily on Chiptune. There's a ton of great artist and styles in the genre, and it's even more awesome that it can be made with such primitive technology compared to today. Since my tulpa isn't that developed, I'm not sure how much it likes the music I listen to, but I like to think it helps.
Guest Anonymous November 8, 2012 November 8, 2012 Mai mostly likes more active/involving music than Sariah does. Sariah is content with things like ambient and drone, but Mai likes to listen to sludge metal and black metal and stuff. Mai also prefers instrumental music, whereas Sariah doesn't really have a preference between instrumental and electronic music.
The Process November 11, 2012 November 11, 2012 My tulpa is an older soul. She prefers classical, especially Beethoven, at least his stuff in a minor key, and jazz. I mostly listen to death metal, and she doesn't seem to mind that at all. She enjoys a lot of Finnish bands in the vein of Hateform and Curimus, but she'll listen to some more vanilla death metal. She is far less accepting of 'x'-core bands, though, not that I mind that. I'm pretty sure she absolutely despises electronic music, though she doesn't mind more rock influenced groups like Anamanaguchi. She likes a few songs by One OK Rock, too. For laughs I played her some Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, which confused and perturbed her greatly. I get the strongest emotional responses from Deluxetone Rockets, 2Cellos, and Hypatia by Sithu Aye. She says she likes passionate and emotionally evocative music with a penchant for music written in minor keys. I played her a pretty simple song in G minor (I think) on the bass, and the emotional response almost knocked me on my ass. http://iamthewhy.tumblr.com/

The Process November 12, 2012 November 12, 2012 Sounds like your tulpa would love /mu/. Why does she hate electronic music? I'll have to check the place out again. Last time I looked at /mu/ everything on the first 5 pages was self-congratulatory Radiohead threads. She says that electronic music is too numbing for her tastes. She is less adverse to more ambient and lounge tracks, though. http://iamthewhy.tumblr.com/
Lordrd January 9, 2013 January 9, 2013 Personally, I enjoy forcing to the smooth sounds of daybreak... Misses Fede-Lasse.
Rae January 9, 2013 January 9, 2013 Well, the first time I could really feel his emotions and hear him was when I was listening to Kansas, so I assumed he liked that kind of music. Turns out Guns N'Roses, Rolling Stones and older music in general is something he apparently appreciates.
MisterTelecaster January 11, 2013 January 11, 2013 "I like anything I can dance to" Her first responses to music (though she doesn't remember them) were to Jack Steadman's "Cheating", and Ratatat's "Montanita". "The first time I was listening to music and just went 'woah' was to the live version of Bloom by Radiohead. I mean damn." I'll have to check the place out again. Last time I looked at /mu/ everything on the first 5 pages was self-congratulatory Radiohead threads. They went through a phase recently of nothing but self-congratulatory AnCo threads when Centipede Hz dropped. It was like they forgot Radiohead even existed. It was weird to see Ban me if I ever mention Telecasters again.
ZerothEnder January 13, 2013 January 13, 2013 I sang Bohemian Rhapsody to Syldra last night on the drive home. It was silly, but she responded by giving me chills up and down my body. I asked her if chills are a positive response, and she responded with a sort of yes feeling. I will listen to some other music I like with her and see if she likes it.
