Here's a drawing from the 2022 hospital stay towards the end when my sanity was draining. This reminds me of twin peaks I think, I forget the name of the characters who were in the jail flipping out, lol. 

 

It looks like my comic got broken. I should reupload it I guess, since I like it enough I think it is worth reviewing, or draw a real version of it digitally or something, but I'm afraid of failure. Either way I have the original fight it comes from transcribed so you can compare. There are differences. Interestingly there is more added to the end that wasn't transcribed but less in the beginning I didn't draw. There was actually 3 fights not just 2. I may or may not draw the first fight

It is byakko meeting Goku. They both have an extending staff and nimbus cloud aka nyoibo and kinto'un. The time I drew this byakko was far weaker than kid Goku probably though. 

 

I hope it is readable. At the end Goku says yowai da na which is Japanese for they're weak aren't they or something like that 

 

I want to redraw the first drawing of byakko on the cloud. It's cute

Byakko: The world's filled with so many interesting people!

Byakko: Huh? OOOOOOOOOOOOH!! (screams it)

Goku: Ara? (like huh in japanese I think, i'm a weeb apparently)

Byakko: You're a fighter too?

Goku: Yeah!

Byakko: Then it's a fight!

Goku: Alright!

Byakko: HIIIIYAHH!!

Goku: SOREEE! (not sure what this means but goku and even goten says this a lot especially as children. I imagine it like LETTT'SS GOOO)

Here is an assortment of drawings we've done since finishing Invincible. This is not all of them but I think most of them. Well the first one I did right before invincible I think... it might be the best too, so invincible made us draw a lot more but also get worse lol, maybe. Tell me what you think

Only the first Byakko is truly finished I think, and even it could go further if I was smart enough. All of these took many hours. Style is really inconsistent probably, partially because idk what we're doing, and partially because I'm not clear on what I want. Also went back and forth between me or Rena working on them, but I don't think that mattered so much for how they came out...

 

And here are some paper drawings, done at work, which I usually don't draw at work even though I bring the supplies to do so, but apparently invincible affected me

You saw the digital version of this, that was done after this one. These aren't in order. Anyway, this is inspired by Goku's Kaioken x3 punch to vegeta... you know the one, maybe. It is not referenced though, just the idea of reeling your fist back so far and kablamming them

 

byakko, presumably levitating. and byakko's forehead, for some reason that can't be determined (it really isn't cut off, that's the bottom of the page. yes, just the top of her head)

 

aah i just realized I forgot her headband in the second one. oops

 

as you can see, there is very little idea of what to do, especially when painting or shading. I understand the concept that there is a light source and planes that are facing towards it the most are the brightest and the more they face away the dimmer they get, and when something is in the way it creates a cast shadow, but I just can't wrap my head around it when it comes to actually doing it. I guess I can't imagine which way the planes are facing well enough? Or idk. When looking at someone elses drawing, sometimes the shading is so subtle I can barely see it, and then sometimes Idk why the shadows look the way they do, but maybe I should look harder. Though looking at drawings might be a faster way to mimic other drawings, but it might not get the actual understanding as well because they can be wrong, so I need to study real objects, but Idk how to set up lighting to practice that, and don't really have good objects I don't think. Most photos shading can be once again really subtle and/or really random looking. idk what to do about it and I'm not quite sure how we've ever shaded anything at all. This is my art thread so I think it is okay to just have giant images not behind spoilers, I think...Ah well... soz for the paragraph pl0x

 

this was requested btw, otherwise i probably wouldn't have posted these. I hope someone gets something out of them, if at least to see how vulnerable we are

Woooow, you've been very productive recently, maybe even moreso than us! And I thought we were being pretty productive

 

Try to strengthen the thoughts/feelings enabling you to do all this to hopefully normalize them, so it's easier to work this way in the future and not fall back into however it is you felt before when struggling to draw

(I'm not qualified to give any 2D art advice so I don't know how to help you improve specifically, but surely only good things can come from drawing this much)

Thank you. Yeah. It's precious and I need to cultivate it so it grows. I want to be EVEN more productive. I have the plan to finish the figure drawing book I bought recently as well as a speed painting course I bought by the end of may, then june, the 6th month, start the cursed artschool again. If I started it right now I think my motivation would collapse. I really need to like, attack it skillfully, which might happen after I have a better idea of how to do gesture drawings, which is like a third of the assignments and is an every day thing. Depending how fast it goes I might refresh on scott robertson's how to draw. It might help me understand the angle of planes better and thus be better at lighting, but I'm not sure

 

Idk if it is interesting to other people, but I like to say lighting now. I used to say shading and I would add the darkness to a drawing, but my other senpai told me it might be good to color it with the darkest colors first and add the light
