This is very old but am inside joke with my friend I drew from us playing Tenkaichi. When I'm Goku and they're Vegeta, they just scream kakarot like a maniac in fury and is just obsessed with beating me and always wanting to fight me. Cartoonishly exaggerated Vegeta lol. I think I've shown this before but it doesn't seem to be in my thread 

My handwriting is awful so l type the dialogue

 

 

Goku: You sure outdid yourself this time Chichi! -at huge dinner with family-

 

Chichi: Isn't it great to finally be able to sit down with your whole family and have a nice, quiet meal, Goku? 

 

Goku: Yeah it's gre--

-Attention ripped away to foreboding aura-

???: KAKAROT!!!

 

 

Vegeta: KAKAROT!!!

 

Vegeta: KAKAAAAAROOOOTTT!!!

 

Goku: Oh boy, Bulma must have forgot to give him his medicine again... -exasperated-

 

Chichi: That's the third time this week! -annoyed and angry-

 

Vegeta: KAKAROT!!!

-raises hand and blasts open front door-

Vegeta: KAKAROT!!!

 

-Gohan and Goten be like o.o- 

 

 

Vegeta: KAKAROT!!!

-Clenches fist in rage and unhinged crooked eyes lol then prepares ki blast while smoke billows from out the door-

 

-preparing instant transmission-

Goku: Sorry Chichi... Gotta take care of this... 

-teleports to Vegeta and they get in a dbz battle in the sky-

 

-Goten and Gohan concerned and confused, Chichi defeated and devastated, and smoke billowing into dining room lol, I love this panel-

 

That Goku about to instant transmit is like one of my best if not best drawing of Goku I think. Looking at that drawing again is actually why I wanted to post this. I wanted to post just that but might as well post whole comic. It is right to left. 

This was hard to post on phone but I figured out how to space the drawings the way I want. I hope there aren't mistakes, if there are I'll have to fix it later. If I already posted this in my thread then...oops. then it is a repost I guess. I hope it is at least slightly funny if enough to get some chuckle, it makes me do that even though I've seen it many times and I think my friend did when I showed them. Drawings aren't amazing or finished but I hope they are good enough. These are some of my best Chichis too. I think she's cute

Not frequently even though that is kind of my dream. Also sorry for just seeing this. I forgot I posted these as I did in the middle of the night on my phone then fell asleep. I'll try to draw some more comics constituing my characters... and I plan to redraw the comic of byakko vs trc version of myself (it's so hard to not want to say "the trc" which would be the the random complex... lol. Like saying senzu bean. Sage/hermit bean bean. just realized it is the same sen in reisen I think kanjiwise)

 

I hope the drawings of the redraw can be much better, and actually panelized instead of just a sequence of drawings on a page, which might have made it hard to tell what was different scenes. Hope you can like it somewhat, though yeah you didn't like the gruesome parts last time but there's only a couple of panels like that I think... maybe I should work on that today actually

I love how fluffy I can seem to draw ears. Idk if anyone else likes or cares about them but that is something I am actually happy about with my drawing ability. Also wow, wtf, she almost looks like her face is shaded in a way that makes sense? idr how to do this

 

kyouiko as a child I guess. I actually just last night dreamed I was a child kyouiko (well younger child anyway. it's really complicated. I hope to tell her story somehow)

 

 

this is like the most rendered drawing I've ever done but it is 6 years old. It had a ref, but not for pose I don't think. Just the rendering style

 

 

normal kyouiko, except hmm, her waist looks a little large. I think I thought it would be because its closer but it doesn't seem to work out. I really like her clothes though. Idk what the giant rope thing is on her sash but it is kind nof cool. Upon closer inspection it's a little confusing what is going on those, but her uh, lower back part of her clothes having gold trim I never draw anymore for some reason. And the red thing with the folds. And the gold trim inside her sleeves. Idk why her sclera is blue, that isn't intentional I don't think. Also her eyes aren't doing the weird thing they are supposed to do. I haven't found the best way to draw it yet anyway but like multiple oddly shaped pupil thing she has like some alien

oh yeah I finished this recently in case you wanted to see what 0 improvement looks like by comparing this week with 6 years ago

 

 

my goal is for august me to be like, twice as good as any of these. That is both not a very big increase but unattainably overambitious

 

Actually I should think about what I want to work on improving in this time in a concise plan... this month is gestures and june1st I'll see if I'm able to start the art course again. And then I guess the art course mainly decides what I'm improving at unless I skip around which apparently some people do but I feel like I don't want to do that. I would like to simultaneously work on it and what I happen to be interested on working on at the time, though

 

I guess I hope to be better at gesture thus posing, and building 3d shapes onto each other in a scene that is believable instead of it being so wrong it looks confusing or flat. Aaand, some degree of coloring. Painting, or something. Mainly in regards to technique, I don't care as much for choosing colors right now. I want to be able to like render. What does having a good color matter if I can't even put it down correctly?

 

I also feel uncomfortable not remotely having a particular style but at the same time would feel uncomfortable forcing myself to choose one way of doing things. Some drawings have thick lines, some thin, some no lines, and if there are lines sometimes they are colored and sometimes just black. And sometimes there are lines in some places and not in others. The last one is probably my favorite I think, but I don't know how to choose where they should and shouldn't be. Colored lines can also involved painted lines or lineart lines that are just a different color

 

anyway a lot to think about, but it is about time to do something

 

I'll try to not have month gaps, and also will try to show more new things than old things... so

I just used the fill tool and made shading using layers that were clipped together, so coloring outside of the lines is impossible lol. If you are commenting on how clean it looks, well I can still draw messy things. I enjoy the rough look of a sketch or speedpaint style drawing, so those are on purpose. Coloring in the lines isn't what it is hard, it is making crisp lines that is hard, but I can do it well enough if I am patient enough

 

This is from 4 years ago and was done in a similar way to the recent one, but I used a pixel brush instead of a pen brush

 

Hopefully my painterly styled ones can be better rendered, maybe you'd like them better then. Reisen's system seems to like those ones more

 

People like different things I suppose. I guess that might make an audience of mine frustrated if I don't always produce the kind of drawing they followed me for, so hmm, wonder how I should deal with that conundrum

 

also ignore the child like drawing in the top left lol, idr why I drew that. almost like Eara drew on the walls lol, but I don't think that is what it is meant to be

 

Though yeah, if you still think I improved a lot that's cool and thanks. I am skeptical that I have though still. That said I do think that last drawing might be on a technical sense the best drawing I have uploaded in that list, but I think that has more to do with a mixture of luck and intending to do something totally not experimental because I needed a token for a ttrpg, so it wasn't a good time to fail. And while it is cleaner than the drawing of Eara's head, I find it hard to beat those surely 3d, fluffy, rubbable scratchable squeezable ears. Maybe I'm delusional and they're flat, but I really feel like I like how I draw that specific thing better than how most other people draw them lol, even if they are better in like everything else

I see. I guess you could get away with calling it your signature style because I have yet to see someone draw like that. It feels like I'm looking at digital watercolor.

Naaw, I just prefer the clean look. Your other style makes them look cleaner lol

I think they just need more shading in that picture, but all things considered keep riding that wave. You're feeling good about art, and that's something I can get by in a person. By all means, keep doing what you're doing

they need more shading? I guess form shadows on the back of the ears or something? because otherwise they seem to have a lot of shading to me. I feel I utilized my master's teaching well. Each plane has a different value, and the value change from the ridge of the ears to the inside of the ears makes them look really thick and fluffy. And then there is a glow on the edge of it all because I think that happens sometimes, idk what it is called. And the white fluff has 2 values making it look thick and substantial, to me anyway. The only thing I can think you mean needs more shading is the part where her left ear turns from going up to going at an angle, but I'm not sure if it is always important or not to do that. I'm not sure the best answer there is. I'd have to ask my senpai master sensei shisou laoshi roshi sennin person, but I fear they'll send me to the shadow realm. Hm. Maybe I just will do it... This is harder than taking a cold shower
