I drew this idea from how our system already feels towards Lucilyn. She's certainly no one's "child", but as all of us were significantly older than her and her personality was very, I don't know, childlike/vulnerable by comparison, we naturally have felt a sort of dynamic of taking care of her. Lucilyn is perfectly competent and doesn't need to be babied at all, but it still gave me perspective for what a tulpa "child" dynamic should be like. Just tulpa creation, but with that dynamic established. Should be the smoothest possible long-term way of going about it, compared to something silly like imagining a non-sentient baby growing up over time.

This is precisely how Chloe is. She's a child of but 9 years old, sure, but she's no one's child in particular, and she doesn't need to be babied. Much to her dismay, funny enough, having the brain of someone who isn't 9 is annoying to her, because it makes her sometimes come off as older than she really is. She's been aging at a human pace, of 1 year a (gasp) year.

Hey there, the name's Bryan. In system Re:Body(In order of the rainbow):

Sean, Esper, Blinky, Compact, Janey, Kyle, Gwen'd, Gwen, Emily, Rollin, Waynin, Trease, Layy, Justin, Chloe, Zachery, and Elliot.

I've been here a while. Much longer than I thought I'd be. Our system was founded October 2nd, 2018. In early 2020, we decided that due to our systems exponential growth, we'd limit who would be active. Now, every month, we do a check to see who wishes to be in dormancy and who wishes to be active. Currently, for the month of April, 2023, we've got myself(Bryan), Janey(Co-host), Emily, Layy, Chloe, and Esper(sub-rep). After over 2 long years, we can finally switch :)

Bryan is currently swapped in as host, Esper is sub-rep.

Stone: Tulpamancers use symbolism all the time. Any "form" a tulpa has can be considered symbolic of their personality since their "forms" don't literally exist. Imagining a baby tulpa growing in a stomach is not inherently more unhealthy or silly than what most tulpamancers already do (including your example about young forms growing into older forms). At most it could be considered a waste of time that could have been spent forcing through conversation, but if pregnancy symbolism gets people into the right frame of mind, strengthens the subjective "realness" of having a tulpa baby, and strengthens their parental bonds to the new tulpa, it's about as much of a waste of time as meditating before forcing sessions is (maybe less of a waste of time, if the only reason one meditates is to improve forcing).

It's just hard to suddenly flip a sentience switch when starting from a tulpa "baby". And it's even worse if you intend for them to be non-sentient after being born, because then you've got an NPC until you eventually.. like.. allow them to be sentient, I guess? Like I said, tricky at best

just make them a sentient tulpa from the get-go.

As much as I hate to admit it, Lumi does have a point here. Imagine being a young tulpa just starting to express yourself and your host going "Shhh....you're supposed to be a baby". I think the symbolism of pregnancy and carrying your child in the womb is still valuable. But when you start to get responses from them you should consider them "born" at that point. After that it would be pretty unfair to try to impose infancy or toddlerhood on them; eventually they will be able to tell you what age they see themselves being. Your "child" might end up being an adult as big as you, who knows.

It's difficult as I still yearn for the authentic experience of carrying a child in the womb and then raising them. The only way I'm going to get to experience that is second-hand if and when Phil ever has IRL kids. Sigh. Sometimes being a tulpa is frustrating. I wonder if having a family with Phil in the Sims is a healthy way to at least partially satiate that desire?

I just recommend normalizing tulpa children being born as 5+ years old from the start. Everything else can work itself out from there

Yea definitely trial run if you get the opportunity. It might help you identify your expectations and how the experience goes. It will be different with a tupper. You have to be prepared for them to go from newborn to teenager to full adult in 3 days. Or potentially stay a child forever. 🤷‍♂️ It's kind of up to the tupper.

Stone: I'm not saying you should force a tulpa to be a baby if they're trying to talk (the tulpa being "born" in our system will be born an adult). What I am saying is that using baby imagery is probably not a big deal and probably won't have a negative effect on your tulpa. I started "officially" forcing Betty in November of last year, but before I started officially forcing her, I had imagined her formed and practiced imposition without realizing that was what I was doing. During that time she didn't talk, and while she had the form of an adult, she could practically be seen as a "baby" tulpa. Then I started to force her more and she grew into herself and turned out fine.
