Zeno has a point actually - while things like "black pride" that aren't sexualities do exist, they don't have flags. So I guess plurality might fall into the same category, warranting "pride" but not necessarily a "pride flag". Which works for me, since I still find the non-basic flags dumb.

I do still think that plurality is something people would want to make a flag for, though, regardless of how we personally feel about it.

Hi. I'm one of Luminesce's tulpas. Unlike the others, I don't think I stand out too much from him personality wise.

I'm just special because "I'm a tulpa". So I don't think I've much to offer, here. I'm happy enough to just be with him.

wei're new but I guess wei can share muir opinions on this

plural flags can be triggering for muis on a bad day because they were popularized in a traumatizing plural group wei were in (its not as bad as it used to be), so there is a bias, but beyond that there seem to be three things system pride flags fall under

1) extremely ugly or sensory hell to try to look at

2) indistinct from gender/sexuality pride flags

3) made by some awful systems within the community

and most are all three. hat's also not even going into how plural pride flags seem to rarely be of people actually of that experience. most of them are also focused on origins, but as wei see it they don't matter quite as much as how you currently experience plurality, and pride over your origin doesn't seem as important to muis as pride over how you are now or what your subculture is.

pride flags for muis make more sense with sexuality in a way wei aren't too sure how to explain, but with mental illness, neurodivergence, and disability just symbols feel more effective to represent us. with plurality we also already have good symbols, the interlocking circle, ampersand, treblesand, and there's no need to replace them. wei are pretty sure there's also a symbol for tulpamancy but wei could be wrong. wei've felt nothing for a bunch of purple stripes indistinguishable from any other bunch of purple stripes, but seeing the amphersand in places does make us feel a little more pride.

From Wikipedia:

Quote

Pride (superbia), also known as hubris (from Ancient Greek ὕβρις) or futility. It is considered the original and worst of the seven deadly sins on almost every list, the most demonic.

It is also thought to be the source of the other capital sins. Pride is the opposite of humility.

Pride is identified as dangerously corrupt selfishness, putting one's own desires, urges, wants, and whims before the welfare of others. Dante's definition of pride was "love of self perverted to hatred and contempt for one's neighbor".

In more pathological cases, it is an irrational belief that one is essentially better, superior, or more important than others, despising their merits, and excessively admiring oneself as godlike, refusing to acknowledge one's limits, faults, or wrongs.

What the weak head with strongest bias rules, Is pride, the never-failing vice of fools.

Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

It's heresy!!

What do pride flags have to do with personal achievements? It's just to show off what special snowflake you consider yourself. And yes even constantly notifying the world around you of your achievements is hubris and makes you come off like an annoying prick.

No but in earnest -  I could not care less about flags and it's fun to make your own but using special pronouns for every one-in-a-million minority makes you look more like an edgy 12year old than a mature human being that can be taken seriously. How is this not an annoying and disruptive typing quirk if everyone deviates from standard English to a point where text becomes unreadable?

I knew you would say that. My point was comparing pride flags to the "sin of pride" just because it uses the word pride was as dumb as saying being proud of achievements was the "sin of pride".

Pride flags/"____ Pride" is just supposed to portray in a positive light minority things that may otherwise be looked down upon.

I still never personally liked flags though, I think the rainbow flag - with the whole point being inclusivity of everyone - was enough of a symbol to say "Accept people for who they are!". I think any more specific sexuality flag after that is special-snowflake syndrome, as you said, feeling the need to tell the world that you're special and deserve unique attention.

That would be an interesting take to pull against plurality, though. Plurality actually is very stigmatized, and most of us ARE proud to be plural, so a plural flag still makes perfect sense to discuss.

I don't feel like... well, anyone really, is in a place to be deciding on a flag for such a wide-reaching concept, and as I stated before I hate super specific flags (like "A tulpa flag, a soulbond flag, a DID flag..."), so I don't really have much input/suggestion for this. Other than I'd really prefer just one single flag or symbol to represent all plural systems.

Ok, I admit I really want to see a tulpa pride parade where tulpamancers dance on the street waving their flags and chanting 'I'm plural and proud' while hugging and kissing their imposed tuppers. The cringe would be unprecedented.

Weapon of war level cringe, almost painful to imagine.

I'm not quite against pride flags in general, especially when it comes to queers with those of us who've faced violence and bigotry they can be a good symbol of pushing back against that. if wei had to guess, the pride flags for different sexuality came because the original symbolism of the rainbow flag was the spectrum of human sexuality, and so different queers use flags to show that they are a part of that spectrum of sexuality. a bunch of colors together does feel representative of a sexuality spectrum, but maybe not so much for plurality, alterhumanity, etc, where the symbolism of color isn't something we really use. so like wei use the quoisexual flag in muir icon because the colors feel like it represents where we are in this vast spectrum of human sexuality.

there actually was an attempt to create a system pride day, but it was by a system who's extremely against any form of plurality that doesn't fit the medical model. the closest inclusive thing wei know of is the plural positivity world conference, but wei don't know a lot about that. "system pride" isn't something wei're really behind because wei feel like the most persecution we get for being a system comes from other systems, meanwhile for queerness wei live in the south and have been called a number of slurs and nearly faced family rejection.
