Let's Talk About Tulpa Appreciation Day 2023!!!

Hello everyone! 😁 For those who may not know, for the last couple of years July 7th has been designated Tulpa Appreciation Day, a little holiday where we take a little extra time to celebrate and appreciate our tulpas!!! 😁 In conjunction with that, Host Appreciation Day follows a month later on August 8th. For simplicity's sake, I'll be referring to the holiday as TAD for the rest of this post.

 

TAD is half a holiday to celebrate privately with your own tulpas, and half a holiday to celebrate with the community in a series of little low-key events! Last year we had an "Art Secret Santa" for TAD, as well as some fun threads. The art secret Santa was really fun and I'd love to do it again if there is enough interest! 💚

 

So I'm just putting this out there to see if anyone has any fun ideas for TAD this year! Keep in mind TAD-related activities don't have to be confined to July 7th itself, so there's nothing wrong with celebrating it a little early/late if that's best for you!

And here is a list of possible ways you can celebrate TAD with your own tulpa(s) on your own! 😁

• Create a list, long or short as you want, of things you love about your tulpa(s). You can share it or keep it private between you and them.
• Create art for your tulpa! Make them a drawing, poem, song, or anything like that that they'd enjoy! Alternatively, create art with your tulpa!
• Set aside extra time that day (or even the whole day) to spend time with your tulpa. If you can, go on a fun day trip to somewhere they'd enjoy! 
• Treat your tulpa to an extra pleasant sensory experience. Eat their favorite food, listen to their favorite music, basically reproduce their favorite sights, sounds, tastes, touches, smells, for them to enjoy!
• Give them a gift; whether it be an IRL gift or something in the wonderland. If you have multiple tulpas, they can give each other gifts as well!
• Treat them to an extra special wonderland adventure! Something beyond what you normally do with them in the wonderland.
• Post in Bear's Tulpa Appreciation Thread and tell the community what you love about your tulpa!
• Pamper them inside the wonderland! Use your imagination to treat them like royalty!
• Try to help them learn a new ability or try a new forcing technique, just to see what happens!
• If your tulpa is a bit shy, you can use this day to introduce them to the world! (Only if they're comfortable, of course)
• Try a fun game with your tulpa!

How about that add-on idea? That’d be something. We could pass around a single image and add our guys to it.

 

It’s a little unrealistic for people to go through all that effort, but I’d rather this idea be out there instead of it being forgotten.

Oh that's right, I remember talking about that! 😁

 

Yeah, there are two ways I can think of to do that: take an image and pass it along like a chain with each person adding their own tulpa to it, or else everyone sends their a drawing of their tulpa to a central person who inserts them all into a single image. The first way would take longer but could possibly result in a more coherent image than the other way around, unless the person compositing the final image is skilled enough.

I don't think my art skills are strong enough to make a nice looking group photo, but I like the draw in your tulpa idea

Oh dear time is really sneaking up on us and TAD is already only two and a half weeks away!

 

It seems like there may not be enough community interest to do anything really big this year. 😢 But that's okay, we can still do a couple very small things together, and of course however anyone celebrates privately is cool too! 😊

 

If anyone is still interested in any kind of collaborative art thingie let me know within the next couple of days because time is short!

Something I didn't even think about until Bennett mentioned it-

Artfight starts on July 1st, which is when a lot of artists will draw for each other. A secret santa too close to TAD might cause issues

Oh dear I didn't think about that!

 

Well, the spirit of the Secret Santa was that it was for everyone, not just artists. It's not something to be taken super seriously. And even something as simple as a little two-minute doodle is acceptable! The real joy of it, in my opinion, is the act of doing something nice for each other more than the result itself. 😊
