So i'm curious about what exactly you guys do when going in mind adventures (those of you who do, i mean). Like, how is your wonderland structured? By which i don't exactly mean "how is your wonderland like", but rather "how much of it is (or isn't) constituted of stable, fixed elements?". Is it all consciously planned? Have you left much room for your subconscious to decide what to put in it? More importantly, do things you (or your tulpa) haven't consciously put in there, you know, last?

Mine has a part of it that's sort of fixed, like, there's a sea, a beach, a thicket, a meadow, Kaoru's house, another thicket, an unidentified mansion, and a city to the north of it. Everything besides the things i've mentioned, including their exact appearance, is pretty much left to interpretation. Most of my adventures, however, take place into a completely imaginary space created on the spur of the moment, ranging from completely fantastic environments to places i've encountered in real life, intertwining themselves randomly. The whole thing feels like a tale told in double-narrator style (me and Kaoru), in which we create things as we see fit, and sometimes things pop up randomly too. Which is pretty cool really, but leaves me with the doubt of what a wonderland even is, and if i'm the only one with such a fucked up way of imagining stuff.

[Really, even the way i impose her in real-life is pretty vague and often defies logic. Am i too attached to fantasy to even impose my tulpa properly? Am i on the way to make real life my wonderland and therefore become a wizard? Will my visualization ever improve this way?]

A small part of my wonderland is mapped out and stable; the things we discover while exploring keep existing, for the most part, though over time the geography shifts and simplifies itself sometimes.

A lot of times, we go into spur-of-the-moment imaginary locales that seem to have no connection with the rest of the wonderland. I was thinking of incorporating these places, and all other places I once liked to fantasize about, into the geography of the wonderland somehow, but not yet.

I don't really have any control over my wondervoid. Seriously I can't change anything. I can interact with stuff but no matter how hard I try I can't change what it looks like. It's kind of like playing a video game Nova builds everything and I'm left there to explore it. Also it's almost always changing (which is probably my fault) so nothing there is ever there for long. I have made maps of when she turned it into Black Mesa.

Dangit, a forum bug ate my first attempt at posting...

My wonderland is a universe, and the mapped-out area of it is a stretch of beach, a house, a meadow behind it and parts of a library there.

When I go on an adventure there, I relax to a somewhat dreamlike state where I can sort of just see things rather than consciously imagine them, though I'm still fully conscious and aware. I then either enter an unexplored area or create a portal that will take me somewhere and enter, with just a vague idea of what will be there. The vague idea is like "forest" or "another library room", and all detail in addition to that is just there when I enter. It's like seeing an existing place, not creating something or watching it form.

When there, I don't have control over everything like I do in my normal wonderland. If a room is shaped a certain way, that's how it is. If there's a monster, I can't just say "there is no monster here" and will it to not exist. Until I do whatever is required to defeat it, the monster will be there, even if I leave and come back later. I might be able to sneak or dash past it and get to whatever is beyond this place. Or if I feel like there's danger, I can teleport us back to the wonderland house.

Also sometimes things I do in an adventure don't work how I expect. One time I made a nice magic staff for myself before setting out. I assumed it would pretty much do whatever I imagined -- I would define abilities onto it as I needed them. When I encountered a flying monster I discovered that this staff has 4 "attacks": a shockwave along the ground, useless against airborne enemies; lightning that can't be aimed at all; an entirely useless spray of water; and a laser that could cut this monster, splitting it into more of the same.

I really just have a vague look at what I have. Which is a two story medium sized house in the middle of a field, (just had to put out a house fire in my Wonderland. Wtf is with my tulpæ? Do they not know how to cook?) with a stable behind it and a fence so the horses don't get out. There is a solid rock wall on the left side of the house. When you walk into the house, there is a staircase on the left and a kitchen all the way back. There is a door in the kitchen that leads to the stable, and a fire extinguisher on the right wall. There is a TV room in the far right, and there is a door leading to the basement. It's locked most of the time. Upstairs is my room, with a management rail for Correy my Core from Portal 2. There is a fire place on the far wall, a small bed suspended by cords on the left wall, a portal gun on the mantle, a window above the fireplace, a pedestal with a fire-colored egg on it, on the floor is a rug, and that's my room. In Aria's room is a bed like mine on the far wall. A cage built into the wall under her bed, in it a lion cub that can become a 6 year old boy with a few lion traits, like ears and a tail. There's a portal gun in a glass box on a display pedestal, a flatscreen Tv positioned so you can see it from the bed, an xbox, a fridge built into the wall next to the bed, a table attached to the bed with controllers on it, a radio on the table, and a keyboard and mouse in a little crevice next to the bed. The Tv is a computer screen, so Aria pretty much can do anything from her bed except spar. There are a few more doors and a boarded off cave. So that's pretty much my Wonderland (or it will be). Its on a small island, also.

"One part of the wonderland never changes, the hub. The hub is a hallway with infinite doors. It started as a white space, and as Kate got better at visualizing she noticed her mind filling in details, like weirdly the floor of the whitespace is made of white aquarium gravel. ODD, but whatever. Gives a nice crunchy sound to walk on though. So she realized as she visualized, the white space was actually a hallway, not quite narrow, sort of like the average highschool hallway size I guess. Doors appeared suddenly all the way down the halls, each one looking slightly different. This is the hub--each of the doors leads to a different place. Some of the doors have nothing behind them, and the world is created as you open it--either by random or by your choice. Some of the doors are linked to memories, like her work or old houses. Older memories are foggier, and the doors are older looking. Dreams are in there too. I can sense what's behind the doors, so it's not like I'll accidentally open a door to hell or anything, I can sense whether it's a dream, memory, nightmare, thought, or new space, and I can sense the positive or negative feelings about the place.

In general, I prefer to keep things realistic. My favorite wonderlands are her memories. I like to let those places 'live' and grow. So they somewhat change. Nothing huge, but..well fish swim through the water, birds will eat smaller fish, insects crawl around and pollinate flowers. Plants grow and compete for light. Seasons change, animals migrate. I try to keep it as real as her mind will allow. I mean, sometimes I cheat some. At least with time. Plants grow faster if I want them too, like my bonsai looks like it's about four years old when really it's four months old. But I don't just 'poof' a finished bonsai or anything like that. It's more fun to put the work into it.

There are times when I have felt like fully creating new unrealistic wonderlands, but I can't help but be drawn to nature. But yeah, I don't know. That's pretty much it. Oh! And it expands on its own as I travel. Kind of logically uses what we know about nature to create the landscape. I also just realized I did have one big change to my wonderland. When she took me to the beach, I loved it so much, I made it so my favorite wonderland also had a beach. Other than that, nothing much happens." -Jaden

Anonymous: Does the portal gun *work*? If so, how are you handling oddities like gravity suddenly changing direction or a portal putting you out at a weird angle?

I ask because this is something I've been thinking of doing in my wonderland. What's been keeping me from doing it is that, plus worrying that my tulpae won't bounce.

This sounds like something that a sadistic Morrowind modder would create.

Chupi: I haven't really been through one yet except for when Aria started blasting people to space and I had to go retrieve Joss.

Oh God, I can barely understand portal physics when playing the game, in wonderland would be amazing.

Also, why do you keep that little boy in a cage? Lol

My opinions are all subject to change.
