Pleeb November 16, 2012 Author November 16, 2012 I'm working on some site design - particularly, making some dummy pages to experiment with feature placement, color schemes, and the like. Surprisingly it's more trouble than I thought. But it's working out. (And yeah, with a different design, blue/black/grey still looks nice.) If you (or anything else that wants to get more into design) are interested, I have some articles that I have read, and have passed on to some other members who were looking into ways of the layout: Here's an interesting article you guys may enjoy in regards to colors: http://webdesign.tutsplus.com/articles/design-theory/designing-for-and-as-a-color-blind-person/ Also an article on layouts (there are other good resources linked in here with other schemas) and it includes some heatmaps: http://webdesign.tutsplus.com/articles/design-theory/understanding-the-f-layout-in-web-design/ I like how they go with the approach of drawing it out on paper and stuff: http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/designing-content-intensive-layout-tips-and-examples/ Spoiler An image in a signature behind a hidden tag!
Amadeus November 17, 2012 November 17, 2012 I think I've actually read one of those articles in college before. Huzzah! I'll start drafting up more dummy pages, then. No section shall be spared! We don't get much in life. But we do have this.
