As you know, we're working on redesigning the site. Part of that is, yes, visual design. I'm no good at actually DESIGNING a site, picking the colors, working on a proper interface, all that stuff.

 

I'm looking for suggestions, so shoot me a PM with a sketch of how you think the design for the site should be, or even just a color scheme (aiming for something lighter this time around). The new site content is pretty much going to be this, more or less, so you could bear that in mind and stuff.

 

Once a proper design and color scheme has been chosen, I'll get to implementing it from a coding point of view (HTML5, CSS3, etc); but it's like the old saying goes, "I can write a huge backend system, just don't make me write the GUI :("

I'm no designer either but bright colors on a forum hurts my eyes. I say at least make one color scheme based off of the current dark and blue one to choose from.

I second Tristan, the color scheme is perfect because it's simple and dark, deviating much would probably just look irritating.

I'm not going bright pink and yellow, guys. Consider this site or this one; it's easy on the eyes and looks pretty clean and slick.

Is an option for different color schemes possible though? I have seen it used with vBulletin and MyBB doesn't seem too different.

It wouldn't be all too hard to have different color schemes(chosen through user CP), I will shoot you a PM, pleeb
