Chupi October 13, 2012 October 13, 2012 Okay now that is interesting. Most tulpa I know say they are different people from their host, but also the same, due to technical restrictions. I think most tulpa (correct me if I'm wrong) would say they were at least "part of" their host. None of mine consider themselves part of me either. They see themselves as separate from me, but closer with me than another physical person can be because we live in the same brain. This is probably because we consider "me" to be my consciousness and subjective continuity, because if this were deleted and replaced with another one (as with Axalto/Nanami), I would no longer be me. The "me" that I am now would no longer exist, and would be replaced by something new that doesn't feel like me and that I wouldn't be consciously running. Saying they're "part of the subconscious" is an oversimplification. The subconscious is not one monolithic thing that's all connected. It's an umbrella term for things happening in the brain that we aren't really aware of happening -- muscle memory, automatic breathing, a lot of sensory processing, those insights that just pop into your mind out of the blue... all are subconscious. So are tulpae -- however this only means that you aren't consciously running them all the time. You may sometimes be aware of what they're thinking, and may even influence it directly; hence they're not in the unconscious. But consider the view from the tulpa's perspective. They're conscious, aware of, and in control of what they're thinking. They can then sometimes be aware of what you're thinking, and other times not. To them, they're the conscious, and you're in the subconscious. Well, earlier on there Roswell also said he doesn't see himself as a part of me either. Also I don't think the subconscious is any of us. It's just... something there, doing things and bitching. Guest Albatross_ October 15, 2012 October 15, 2012 Also I don't think the subconscious is any of us. It's just... something there, doing things and bitching. More or less this. The subconscious, contrary to popular belief, is not actually a defined part of the psyche. It is just a catch-all for everything the mind does that isn't your conscious train of thought.

motorheadlk October 26, 2012 October 26, 2012 [[ Last night on #Tulpa I was told, by my tulpa, that I'm stubborn on the inside. I want every mind-born tulpa who sees this to give their feedback. It's something that probably comes as second nature to you by now, but for us hosts who never had the opportunity to learn the difference, it is completely alien. Like the letter L in Japanese. We don't have words to describe it, because all our lives we've only known these concepts to be different parts of ourselves. But you tulpa... You are born into it. You learn right quick the difference between yourself and your host. Between yourself and the subconscious. But us hosts... We don't get it. We don't have words to get it with. I really don't know what I'm asking you to describe, but I know it is very important. Getting this thing that you get inherently means us accepting your existence on a basic level. I don't know if you're getting what I'm talking about, I know I sure don't, but please try the best you can to explain it. And Pleeb. You damn well better open Notepad right now and type every little thought Chess sends you about this. ]] I think I get him, and will try to describe him, but be aware that my english sucks. First, read this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Me_Mine Yes, the fucking beatles are fucking philosophy and poetry and shit. What he's saying basically is, what is it that we should consider as ourselves, like the one who is reading this right now, the one who is doing the job of decode this words (the subconscious/brain), is it our bodies, or what exactly is it? This probably shouldn't be in the research section, except he asked to our tulpas to answer him, so I guess this could fit in research. Let's get what he said: "Last night on #Tulpa I was told, by my tulpa, that I'm stubborn on the inside.". He probably never had seem himself as stubborn, and since she said "in the inside", he probably thought it might not be his "I", but his subconscious or something else, like something attached to him, to quote Aristotle: "Distinct by definition yet inseparable by nature, like the concave and the convex in a circle". Then, he progresses: "It's something that probably comes as second nature to you by now, but for us hosts who never had the opportunity to learn the difference" That's what his searching, the difference between the "I", and everything else attached to it that we do not define by ourselves when we say "I was thinking", or at least we don't differ it from ourselves. But the tulpa, like he says: "You are born into it" "You learn right quick the difference between yourself and your host. Between yourself and the subconscious. But us hosts... We don't get it." So he's saying that we hosts don't know nothing about who we are, to quote Nietzsche: "What does a man properly knows about himself!?". So, this self, what is it, that's what he's questioning, and he thinks the tulpa might know the answer, and that it could help us understand ourselves, and I do believe too that tulpas might know words to explain it, and since I think I cleared out what he wanted to say (at least to some degree) I believe that maybe now tulpas can answer him. I'm brazilian and my english is not really good, I'll do every mistake you imagine, but I'll try to avoid them. Tulpa: Kuruminha Age: Began on the middle of october. Form: My avatar. Onicron November 13, 2012 November 13, 2012 Oni is a weird one, that I can say for sure. [Thank's a lot for that..] He sees himself as stubborn but if someone asks for his help he rarely refuses, or if something has to be done he'll do it himself and won't ask for help easily. So, the "outer" him is stubborn as a mule, but the "inner" him is too generous for his own good. I don't know, this is the hardest thing I've had to explain by far even though it's so clear to me. I know him but can't explain him.
