hakase November 7, 2012 November 7, 2012 Someone earlier suggested combining them together... I feel like this might be the best, as they sort-of do mesh very well. My only concern with that would be the possibility that Rev could still be malignant, and that merging him with Red might potentially corrupt Red. Take my advice with a grain of salt, but I would wait it out and see what unfolds. Whatever you choose to do, definitely take it slow and be careful, though. CyberD November 8, 2012 November 8, 2012 I wouldn't have a clue how you should go about combining them since I've never done (or heard of) anything like it. But, that won't stop me coming up with some advice, whether it is helpful or not is a different story. First of all. I think the sooner you do it the better. If you want to combine them you don't want to wait a week or two to see what happens. If you do that then they'll both become more their own and it'll make combining them more awkward. So, just sit down, go to your wonderland put them both next to each other. Then you just do it. You can visualize it as a fancy transformation sequence or you could just turn them both into energy and combine them that way. Whatever you decide you should make sure that you assure yourself they have been completely and flawless combined. There can be no leaks of personality or evidence of two beings existing. It'd probably be easiest if you look at the result as being Red, the original red that new red (Rev?) spawned from. You're just recombining the split off personality. Tell the resulting Red that you want him to be how you want him to be. If you don't want him to be aggressive then tell him he shouldn't be aggressive, if you want him to be a mix then let him be a mix. And should you for some reason want the gun nut borderline psycho Rev personality to shine then let it shine. Hakase makes a good point, don't let Rev corrupt Red. You need the merge the personalities as well as the physical appearance. If you believe Red is the stronger of the two (since he was the original) then his personality should be dominant. If for some reason he shows traits you don't like then tell him you don't like them and work on it with him. Just be careful. Honestly, I think it'll work out for the best if you don't over-think it. Just know what you want Red to come out like and make sure it happens. Of course no one is making you merge them, don't feel like you have to if you don't want to.

hakase November 8, 2012 November 8, 2012 Short reminder that merging two minds means creating an entirely new one and deleting the old ones. We can't say that for sure though, can we? I mean I feel like the community is still on the tip of the iceberg as far as knowledge considering tulpas go, and much of what's taken as canon is still only speculation. Lukenstein3D November 8, 2012 Author November 8, 2012 Whelp, I'm pretty sure that Red has absorbed Rev all on his own (I am unable to sense Rev and Red is acting like himself, but with an ever-so-slight bit of newfound brutishness in his attitude, something characteristic of Rev)! However, I am not 100% sure about this (more like 85%) and will post a few hours later on after a good session of tulpaforcing. If Rev is still in there, then I'll probably end up getting rid of him. This is my first time creating a tulpa, one is enough for now. ”Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.” - Henry Ford
CyberD November 8, 2012 November 8, 2012 Short reminder that merging two minds means creating an entirely new one and deleting the old ones. New things aren't necessarily bad things. A merged tulpa would retain the experiences of both. Anything we haven't seen before is a new experience to learn. Good luck in your future sessions. I guess Red took charge on his own. Let us know what happens.
intelhunter November 8, 2012 November 8, 2012 when i was a reeeally new t'mancer i had a intrusive thought that i mistaked for a tulpa. i put it on ice thinking that i would finish it later, but i decided on offing it instead. Ayo grill how you be?
Lukenstein3D November 8, 2012 Author November 8, 2012 Oh wow oh wow oh wow. This might be a little long, but please bear with me. Red and I were hanging out (he's been acting like a dog ever since I rediscovered him yesterday) when Rev popped out of nowhere, furious, and "kidnapped" Red. We got into a huge argument, I explained to him that I was new at this whole tulpa thing, one was hard enough as it was, and Red had been around longer. Rev still wouldn't give him up (tried talking to Red and only heard "help me"), so I ended up pinning him to the ground, holding him down and telling him that if he did anything to Red, I would ignore him and destroy him. Finally, he let Red go, but only a minute later he grabbed Red again and absorbed him into his hand out of jealousy. Rev changes his color, attitude, his eyes are surprised, he's a new person. I figure maybe it was a clean merge, decide to roll with it. Problem is that, although he's sentient, I'm reteaching this new Rev some (but not all) of the stuff he used to do, and his body is flaky, almost falling apart. Thinking something's up, I call upon Red only to see him up in the sky like goddamn Simba, ask him if he really did merge, he thinks he's merged but he's not sure. Call on Rev, Rev puts his arm over the "new" guy in a friendly manner, it goes right through the flaky guy and he flakes apart. The same thing happens AGAIN with Rev absorbing Red again, and once again I get a flaky guy who's definitely sentient but falling apart. Now, what I think is that there's no way I'm going to merge them without creating some shitty fake tulpa that ends up falling apart. Red and Rev are still there, though I now feel like me ignoring Red for so long has given him brain damage or something (still knows all of his old stuff, but has a lot of trouble moving unless he's acting like a dog :I). At this point, I either keep both or I outright destroy one, but the thing is... I know Rev has the potential to be great, I can FEEL it, but this whole rediscovering Red thing has really upset him. I've told him before that I actually love and very much respect the fact that he is confident enough to not put up with my shit when I'm being a real dummy, and I feel like Red would never have been ignored if I had given him something like that. Rev seems to have become my primary tulpa now, and Red... has become a sentient pet, but a really smart sentient pet who likes to talk a lot and for all intents and purposes is a full tulpa. I think I'm going to keep them both, see how things go from here, with Rev being the primary for now and having him help me "heal" Red. It'll be tough, but I really think keeping them both is the way to do it. Pinkamena suggested that I turn one into a pet, which could work but I won't do to Red (he's still well enough to clearly express that he's actually pretty horrified by the idea). So I guess that's that, wrapping this up for now. Thank you so much to all that replied, it was a great adventure I had with my tulpae and you helped us out immensely. I'll post back here if something major happens, but otherwise I think I'm all set. Rev and Red say hi :D ”Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.” - Henry Ford
TulpaCouple November 8, 2012 November 8, 2012 Rev sounds frightened. He is a sentient being after all, the idea of death is frightening, especially when most tulpae describe dissipation as a rather negative experience. It sounds like he tried to absorb red and failed as a last ditch attempt at staying alive. And Red will get stronger with time. He hasn't received attention or forcing, so spending time with him will help him move. Is it possible to make an agreement all parties can enjoy? Rev doesn't mess with Red, is not malicious to you, and will be able to live? They sound like they could be an interesting balance as brothers of sorts. Rev could even help get Red stronger and able to move by forcing with you.

I feel pretty foolish for doing some of the stuff I did, but everyone seems happier now :) I feel like Red will recover, right now he's just happy that he's back. They're actually getting along very well now :) ”Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right.” - Henry Ford
