Tulpas vs. Real friends.

Recommended Posts

Have you been spying on me?

A tulpa will never be busy, due to not having any obligations in the real world. They'll always have time for you. Plus they don't have to go home at the end of the day like real friends. They'll be awake whenever you are. Also, a tulpa doesn't have to have the same limitations as a human, so they'll be more interesting.

The only cons I can think of are becoming more withdrawn and becoming know for being a little off in the head. I'm already withdrawn and people already think I'm a little crazy, so a little more won't matter.

For me, the only con about my real life friends is that they don't exist

Well asode from the no friends part (i can only count them on my hand) i too feel that having a perma friend will be the best thing ever. No longer will i fear losing friends and will just go all out on my opinions and terrible views on life. No fucks will be given but ill be handing out plenty of "fuck you"s

Tulpae >= Real people

Prove me wrong

So

Tulpae≥real people?

Indeed. Or Real people≤tulpae

Since (almost) everyone in this thread seems to prefer tulpae to humans, allow me to list a few pros for 'real' friends (as devil's advocate):

  • Human beings are tangible, and therefore you are able to interact with them physically; something you can never do with a tulpa; You can't give a tulpa a handshake or kiss.

  • Tulpae, whether you like to admit it or not, are ultimately apart of 'your' brain. Asking another person for advice on a subject gives a different perspective, while I doubt your subconscious can come up with something you haven't already.

  • Real people exist in the real world, and therefore your affiliation with any given person can have rewards/detriments. Sorry, but a tulpa can't get you a job or give you a ride if your car breaks down. On the flip side, a tulpa will never rob you or fight you (physically).

I think Goldsmith put it best, though:

They are two entirely different kinds of relationships.

One is an internal relationship. It can experience and understand you first hand from a first hand perspective.

The other is an external relationship. They can never truly understand or experience you, going by second and third hand accounts.

However, external relationships are important and necessary, and fulfilling in ways internal relationships can never be. At the same time, Internal relationships are important and fulfilling in ways external relationships can never be.

[*]Human beings are tangible, and therefore you are able to interact with them physically; something you can never do with a tulpa; You can't give a tulpa a handshake or kiss.

I guess if you practice imposition/hallucination long and well enough... i do agree it's probably pretty difficult.

Tupper different perspective can actually go a surprisingly long way from what i've found. Expecially since real people have a tendency to know way less shit about you than your tuppers.

The main reason why real people are better than tulpae, per se, are because real people cannot be manipulated in any way, and also because real people are tangible and do not require hallucinations. The only real upside I can see is a difference in opinion as far as being able to manipulate your tulpa: If you like control, go for tulpae, if you like freedom, people. That's how I see it. (Please no tar and feathers, thanks)
