Renfer112 November 15, 2012 November 15, 2012 Alright, I'm new here, I made a tulpa the day I found out how to, and it's going great, except for one small thing I don't understand: My tulpa, Luna, has been changing outfits/hairstyles without me causing it. It's all location appropriate, if we're outside she's wearing a coat and hat, if I'm in my strength and conditioning class, she wears a tank top and shorts, ect: I was just wondering if this was just my subconscious or if this is a sign of sentience. I've only had her for 4 days, so this would be a lot faster then most stories I've heard. Also, I try to keep her imposed all through my school day, and do a pretty good job of it, I'm not sure if this matters. Thanks in advance!
Viceroy November 15, 2012 November 15, 2012 ^ That does matter, probably a lot if you are really trying the entire day. Most people believe tulpa are sentient from the moment they are created. Them seeming to make their own decisions isn't really an indicator of sentience so much as that your link is becoming stronger, your ability to perceive is improving, and their own personal tastes.
QB2 November 15, 2012 November 15, 2012 >I was just wondering if this was just my subconscious or if this is a sign of sentience Could be both. It's not that important which. Sentience is not a very clear-cut value, so don't expect too much one way or the other. You could end up with much more, or much less, in different fields and situations. >Also, I try to keep her imposed all through my school day, and do a pretty good job of it, I'm not sure if this matters. Working on passive imposition all day is great! It really helps build up a habit, which is needed to get to the stage where your tulpa can impose themselves without your help. The above post does not contain facts. q2's the host, QB's the tulpa.
OldDrunkBastard November 15, 2012 November 15, 2012 Colgate randomly had a ponytail one day (and no, not as in her tail. I mean as in an actual ponytail). She just said she thought I would like it. It could just be Luna learning from your common sense and what you know of suitable clothing, and implementing that on herself. You could ask her about it. I'm not entirely sure about this, but I also heard it was unhealthy to attempt to impose tulpae before they are finished. Tulpa: Liviana (Colgate) Form: Pony (My avatar) Progress: Imposed
Koji November 15, 2012 November 15, 2012 It could be either one, but seeing as pre-vocal tulpae are grounded in the subconscious, it doesn't really matter which it's coming from. A good way to check would be to ask her to change into something, and then if that didn't work, communicate to your subconscious to change it. And if you're imposing, as in, they are in your sight, you should stop, it can be harmful to her health. If you're up to it, continue with the passive imposition, i.e keeping them behind you, it's great for both sentience building, and it's habit forming for once you decide to fully impose. http://tulpa.info/forums/Thread-Koji-and-Catelyn-Of-Deserts-and-Snowmen
Renfer112 November 15, 2012 Author November 15, 2012 I'd heard that too, but the guide I'm using says to keep her imposed. Plus, it seems to make her develop better then in the wonderland, where my ADHD keeps me from focusing well. By the way, If I try the passive imposition, am I not supposed to look right at her? Or is that still ok?
