I used Dane's in May for about 3-4 months. I followed it to the T until I just figured out that it actually did nothing and didn't really help me personally. Development was the the very least unhindered after that. My second tupper is actually 6 months old today and she didn't have anything to do with Dane's or anyone elses guides.

I myself don't hear too much about people's success or failings with a personality list these days.

As much as I love watching everyone argue over these subjects (no sarcasm there), I'm trying to think of what to do with the story.

I know The basics of what I want to do with it.. Just can't decide on a few plot devices..

I found some fiction novels floating around my room that I'd gotten a long time ago and am now (finally) reading them..I've finished An Innocent Madness by Dulcie Hollyock. Am nearly done with Death Angel by Robert Black and about to start on Doctored Evidence by Michael Biehl..

I was hoping they'd give me some ideas. Innocent Madness was very slow but had a nice plot twist and Death Angel is okay.. It goes off on a lot of random subjects, introduces too many characters too quickly (I now see the problem in that) and I was able to guess the killer about half-way through the book.. The only mystery left in it was why he did it.. Really not sure if the last twenty pages are even worth reading. I have another book I need to find.. The Perfumed Sleeve.. Don't remember who wrote it..

What I'm thinking is that I want the Tulpa to be part of the solution, not the problem. Even though he looks like the problem at first.. ... Goddamn it! I can't think. Dad just turned on the tv... Love it..

I can't stand the sappy, overly romantic crap.. I love blood and gore.. I want some kind of romance brought on or.. Helped I guess? by the blood & gore.. Like they work together so much trying to figure something out that they end up gradually gravitating toward each other.. Or perhaps it comes about from helping each other dodge the violence.. It'll be implied romance or have romantic undertones, but that's not the main focus of the story.

Sorry if I ramble.. It helps me think sometimes..

It's just... What's causing the violence and why? Something the main character and her Tulpa are thrown into simply by going to England..

Can y'all just throw me some ideas? Words? Prompts?.. Something to kick start my brain..

Honestly, y'all have no idea how helpful y'all have been. Thank ya so much!

Domestic abuse: while it looks like a stable family that protag has moved to, beneath the surface the father abuses the mother, and while the mother would only protect her own children she has no qualms turning on protag as a coping mechanism. While the tulpa was previously just a plaything, a fantasy, now it comes into its own as a form of emotional support; that is, the protag regresses further into fantasy with the abuse while the tulpa assists the escape, as well as comforting protag.

0_o That sounds interesting.. never thought of anything like that..

OMG!!!

I just had an amazing idea!

I was watching the new BBC series of Sherlock.. Well.. I say new. Season 1 came out in 2010.. (Netflix is AWESOME!!) ANYWAY!!!!

Murder mystery! People are dying with no signs of trauma or anything to their bodies.. Main Character helps them figure it out because.. I don't want to give it away! GYA!!!

Sry.. I'm excited now.. Ideas! Ideas ideasideas! Everywhere ideas!

What do y'all think about Tulpae so strong/well imposed that others can not only see and hear them, but feel them as well? The tulpa and/or Tulpamancer can impose things to such a degree that people believe it's real?

Do you remember asking, at the beginning of this thread, what would constitute a misrepresentation of the abilities of a tulpa? Well, this is it if I ever saw one:

What do y'all think about Tulpae so strong/well imposed that others can not only see and hear them, but feel them as well? The tulpa and/or Tulpamancer can impose things to such a degree that people believe it's real?

That's why I ask before writing.

As I also mentioned before: I'm thinking the perfect Tulpa. One that isn't bound by the limitations of the human mind.. It's hard to explain.. Theoretically, what could they be capable of if we don't take into account the limitations of the Tulpamancer's human weaknesses.

I've read about people catching glimpses of other people's Tulpa.. What if we just expand on that a bit more?

If they can trick the mind of another person into thinking they see them, is it really so far fetched they could do the same to the auditory senses? Or any other senses for that matter?

They aren't effecting anything physically.. Only tricking the people's brains into thinking it's really happening.

Worried about energy limitations?

Let's just say they gather energy from more than just their creator.. I know I've read that theory somewhere.. And have figured a way to use it effectively to the point where they don't need their own personal power plants to do these things.

Well, hypothetically, if one were to spend as much time focusing on the feeling of skin contact with the tulpa as they do with sight or hearing, it could be possible to hallucinate touch. It doesn't seem as though many focus on the way their tulpas skin feels, so maybe if you visualized a completely solid body and spent a great deal of time visualizing touch, you could feel them. Just a hypothesis though. Also, if the previous was true, and touch could be hallucinated, only you would feel them, same as sound and sight.

Let's focus on the matter at hand, shall we?

NO.

Tulpas are always bound by the brain. I seriously suggest that you do not use the metaphysical standpoint for this.

People don't catch glimpses of others' tulpas; they think they do. The tulpa has nothing to do with it. In fact, the tulpa needn't exist for it to happen, only that the external viewer think that the tulpa exists. In this regard, the tulpa has no control over what the viewer is seeing, and thus could not communicate.

Besides that, you should exercise more skepticism here. People claim to see UFOs all the time, and yet you probably don't think that there are UFOs. Why not extend this skepticism to tulpas?

Tactile sensation is pretty common. I can testify that I can feel my tulpa, if barely. Ani is talking about other people, not the host, experiencing the tulpa.
