Moose December 1, 2012 December 1, 2012 Am I right in assuming it's like they're experiencing them? Or what? I'm curious because Tulsi apparently recently went through a sad memory I had up until recently kept hidden. I only found out that she actually went through said memory because I asked her what she was doing, and she replied with the curious but worrying answer "Cleaning your memories." Apparently she was trying (and clearly failing) to get rid of said memory... you know, rather than ask me about it, or consider that maybe that's not what you do with your memories (' - ') When I went into the wonderland, she was quite distraught, and it took a bit to calm her down. If just viewing someone's memory is enough to invoke such emotions, I assume they pretty much experience them completely, no? Edit: Second thought: It's my understanding that in trying times your mind will hide many of the details of your memory. However, the whole thing's still there. So... I guess a Tulpa would be viewing this "Uncensored"?
waffles December 1, 2012 December 1, 2012 You can feel emotion just from remembering something, so it'd be jumping to conclusions to say that tulpas vividly experience memories just because of this. Because the tulpa resides within the mind, and has no real constant sensory input, it has liscence to experience memories a little more vividly, but to the extent of my knowledge it is uncommon to experience them completely vividly. Remember too that memories - episodic, here - degrade over time, and as such a tulpa may bring up a detail from one that is fabricated, rather than originally present. It is sometimes thought that tulpas can partially bypass the mental process that stores and retrieves memories: this explains the better recall seen, as well as the ability to delete or modify memories and access repressed ones.
glitchthe3rd December 1, 2012 December 1, 2012 According to Luna, she can choose to immerse herself in my memories, effectively reliving them. Or she can just watch a video of them. "Science isn't about why, science is about why not?" -Cave Johnson Tulpae: Luna, Elise, Naomi My progress report

Aurora December 2, 2012 December 2, 2012 I don't feel like I'm reliving my hosts memories when I access them. In fact, I think that I feel even more detached from them than he does. A sad memory can still upset me, but not because I would be forced to relive it, but because I would empathize with my host. My Samantha Steam DeviantArt Progress report
Kimnd December 3, 2012 December 3, 2012 Kev doesn't seem to have any interest in really looking through my memories. I made a literal library of memories anticipating that he'd want to access them, but he doesn't really seem all that into reading. So, I really don't foresee any kind of modification or deletion on his part unless it's by accident-- I haven't been through any truly traumatic experiences, so I really wouldn't want him to modify any memories of mine. Or maybe I should include a 'mixed media' section. On the subject of memories, though, I've noticed a lot more recall of random bits and blobs from my past resurfacing. It's probably that I pay more attention to them for Kev's sake, pointing out stuff in the memory and how it connects to the current situation. It also seems like when he's board and has nothing to do, Kev likes pulling random books off the shelves and 'visiting' memories, a process I don't understand and I don't think Kev does either.
moondragon December 4, 2012 December 4, 2012 Hi Aurora, I didn't know any tulpas were posting here..Nice to meet you.. And, Glitch, that is interesting that Luna can either watch or relive your memories. Does she tell you what her impressions are of certain memories that are important to you?
Rythym Flow December 4, 2012 December 4, 2012 Rai's not shy about it that's for sure, first day in her room in her wonderland "Hey Rai what are all these books?" "Different memories, yours, mine, ours" categorized by date, subject and emotion she uses a recipe book of foods that I have tasted when she cooks and she has something called a memory stream, which she says is for decoration but I don't believe her, she used my memories of animals to learn to move her form she also enjoys watching cartoons in her wonderland from my memories... She can use her memory steam in a similar way to "The Pensieve" from Harry Potter, she can view them from a book or read what happened in a book although the end result looks kind of link script "X did X lead to Y, Y caused this reaction in X".
