1)Guides are at best general and do-whatever-you-like-trust-yourself type of shit. Good thing is the metaphysical aspects are almost completely non-existent and are not generally encouraged.

That's mainly because, in the end, about non of us know much about how the phenomenon actually works, and the original two guides were mainly shots in the dark by people who had success. One thing I personally noticed about said guides, and based on my own subjective experience, is that the process of creation, when taken to it's absolute skeleton, is talking to a thought like you would a different person until you start getting responses from said thought and it makes itself into it's own personality. Some accidental cases by writers, artists, and other such creative folk imply that just aiming enough attention on something while regarding it with person hood is enough to get it to be sentient.

I, too, was quite glad that this wasn't some kind of occult practicing thing, and the fact that I heard accounts from people who were definitely NOT in any sort of occultism made me that much more willing to jump into it. Honestly, I think this phenomenon has less to do with "spirit guides" and what not, and more to do with Multiplicity and, to the chagrin of some, MPD/DID, and how it works. That's my look at things, anyway.

2)Having persistent willingly self-induced hallucinatory experience is not normal. (Feel free to argue about this). Telling people it's possible to attain such thing (with complete alternate personality) in matter of hours or short time span is just ridiculous.

Agreed. I'm seven months in and while I can communicate with mine, and even feel her to an extent, I haven't seen her, or hallucinated her voice at all. While I'm not completely against the idea that this process can take shorter time for some and longer for others, 3-day-thought folk make me more than a little skeptical.

4)The guides tell about personality and visualisation and stuff, but what about the most important thing.

What do you do when you begin? Sit around and think stuff?

Yes, it's exactly that. You get an idea to aim all you thoughts and yapping at, and you get to it. Think of your buddies form, their personality, whatever. The guides make things seem much more complex than they actually are. Really, not even meditation is necessary. I was an avid daydreamer for years, and I didn't get a fully functional tulpa until recently because not only did I not talk to them like people, but I didn't regard them as such either.

So in conclusion: this may sound like a big fuck you, but it really isn't. I genuinely want to improve this community and want everyone to succeed in their self-induced hallucinatory experience, but sometimes harsh words are needed to be kind. I am also very interested to having my own self-induced hallucinatory experience and I believe it is possible to attain.

It's cool. I'd rather have some occasional criticism over this place turning into some kind of internet imaginary Pony cult.

I can buy a new computer if this one gets broken, but I'd like to be more careful when tampering with the brains.

Well said, i like your analogy. To my knowledge though, there haven't been any cases of developing harmful mental illness in the user base of these forums. If you truly want to be safe, you should delay 6 months to a year on your tulpa's creation to monitor the logs of the members herein. If there are still no reported cases you could consider the danger to be minimal, or extremely unlikely.

Seriously though, write a log. it will allow you to create a trail of data that you can reflect on latter and you seem to write well so it may be a enjoyable read and connect you to the community.
