Getting rid of a formidable tulpa.

Recommended Posts

Tell him to stop being a weak sack of shit. [snip] That or he's just roleplaying for attention which is all the rage these days.

This.

Twilight spends most of her energy keeping another tulpa, Caliborne, asleep so he doesn't hurt the host via forcible possession. While Twilight can forcibly possess when the host is tired, I'm not quite sure of the extent of Caliborne's power. Based on what Twilight implied when I was talking to her, Caliborne is far more powerful than her.

Tell him to astral-project to Equestrania to retrieve the staff of harmony, which will increase his SPIRIT and WILLPOWER by 40%. Be wary, however, for this will also debuff his STR by 10%. This shouldn't be much of a problem given the massive bonuses, IMHO. This is only if he's playing version 3.5 however, because the staff mechanics were seriously changed in version 4. The SPIRIT and WILLPOWER bonuses are only +10% each, but if you roll a 10+ on a D20 then your roll*3 is added to the percent bonuses. The problem is that any roll under 10 will reduce the percentages by roll*2, which can very easily go into the negative. The STR debuff is also at a base 15% with no modification.

Make sure you tell him all of this. He needs to very carefully consider if he wishes to try to use the v3.5 or v4 staff to banish his dastardly rogue tulpas to the DARKNESS from whence they came.

EDIT:

You know what? Tell him to go see a therapist or some other psychologist. The "hurt the host via forcible possession" part sounds pretty god damn serious. I think asking a bunch of assholes on some internet forum for role-playing advice when his life could be in danger is a fucking awful idea. Tell him to seek professional help and quit fucking around on here. If he's at all serious then please, PLEASE have him get professional help instead of having us "help" him by proxy. "Have the tulpa merge with his inner calming peace" or "Tell him to just make up with his tulpa"? No. Fuck that. Tell him to get some actual help, man.

And, as always, if you guys are just roleplaying, then please see the portion of my post above the line. I have some pretty good roleplaying advice in there for you in that case.

You're mind if your domain. You have 100% control.

For my suggestion, go on a lengthy journey of self discovery to become a mighty paladin. Bubble and kill all the tulpas. Bathing in their blood for immunity against his mind.

Or, he can simply learn something called will power. Or just stop being an attention whoring RPer as I saw was previously suggested. Yaaaaay thread browsing.

Tulpa(s): Luna and Twilight.

Calm your jimmies, this does not involve my own tulpas, but rather someone we know through the IRC channels with a tulpa that they do not know how to get rid of.

For all intents and purposes, the tulpa will be called Twilight. Twilight was created before the host knew about what tulpas are, and was instead an offshoot of the host's personality. Twilight grew until she was capable of several things: auditory hallucinations, possession of the host without consent, and the ability to force the host to imagine certain things.

The host would like to get rid of Twilight, and was okay with me asking this question for them. We ask this since the tulpa is powerful, and might require special treatment.

That sounds less like a tulpa and more like a separate mental illness.

Just to update the situation, I recently discovered some complications in the host's case. Twilight is one of several tulpas, but is not the most damaging to the host. I think the host wants both of them gone, but has not acted on it.

Smells like extensive roleplaying. This stuff looks like a videogame script or something.

I dislike this idea that if you have a rouge tulpa then you can't get help. Honestly, if something is taking control of your life then get professional help.

Then why do you encourage people to make tulpas? you might ask. I try not to. I try to help.

Firstly, always teach your tulpa compassion. They need to learn this. A tulpa with compassion will at least try to live with you companionably.

Lastly, yes tulpas can be uncreated. That was always inherent in the Tibetan methods. It's not a short process though, and requires a bit of mental discipline on the part of the human. Basically you will need to read one of the books on thoughtforms or, again, get help.
