I'm sorry to revive a dead thread but the accounts of hosts having trouble communicating with their tulpa really struck close to home for me. I feel like Alice is a work in progress still. She doesn't have her own thought stream and seems to only really interact with me when i'm focusing on her. She knows it as well and i feel like she's sad she can't be what she thinks she's supposed to be. I'm assuming there isn't really a problem and she's still developing, but the posts herein make some good points.

I'd like to know if Mekogaden and others continued working on their tulpa, and if their tulpa moved past this phase and did develop their own thoughts and independence.

I've continued working with my tulpa since posting in this thread. I essentially tried to ignore any responses I felt were 'parroted' in order to force her to grow strong enough to talk without my subconscious aid. My tulpa was un-vocal for about 3 months, before suddenly regaining vocality and returning us to the exact same scenario, although the parroting feeling isn't as bad as it once was. We're currently trying to create a separation between us directly through active forcing, but I may soon try to ask a more experienced member for help directly if I can ever get a good enough understanding of our situation to express it in words.

One helpful thing I discovered is that when my tulpa talks, I tend to get a sort of instinctive idea of what she means which is soon followed by her actual words. The words generally feel parroted while the gut feeling doesn't, so I find focusing on the feeling and not the words some times helps. Don't know if it'll work for everyone, but it helps me.

I've yet to hear of anyone specifically who has overcome this issue before. It feels like the only thing my tulpa and I have to go on is an unfounded faith that things will improve, so it'd be really uplifting to at least know some one has overcome these issues in the past.
