Arctiq September 26, 2013 September 26, 2013 I've heard from some people that head pressures can be a good thing (in regards to tulpamancy) or they don't mean anything at all. In the first week of developing Maya, the head pressures were very slight, but noticeable. It's the second week and now they are very strong and they kind of hurt (almost like a headache). Today I asked Maya (she doesn't really talk yet) to give me a painful head-pressure as test, I got one but it was not like I was feeling yesterday. Could anyone help me explain what's going on? TulpaCouple September 26, 2013 September 26, 2013 Sometimes when you concentrate harder than you are used to you can get a headache. This goes for forcing or homework or learning something new. You don't focus with the intensity you do while forcing on a regular basis so your head is probably feeling the strain of it all. More direct head pressure in response to a question might be communication, but sometimes all that thinking can just make your head hurt. The headaches do go away, though. Very cool that she was able to give you head pressure when you asked, though, looks like she's becoming pretty responsive to you. I don't really think you need to force so long you give yourself a headache, if your head is hurting you can take a break and come back later I think. In time you won't get headaches because you're used to this kind of concentration.
Arctiq September 26, 2013 Author September 26, 2013 I guess I did do a lot of forcing without even realizing it. Maya: - Human - Female - Created on September 16, 2013.
Solitude September 26, 2013 September 26, 2013 I've been getting these while actively forcing, most often closed-eye forcing (either visualizing or trying to "hear" my tulpa's voice/thoughts.) They are painful and for me are located in the back left side of my head, past my left ear and slightly above the top of my left ear. It's like a mini locallized headache, a moderately sharp pain there that persists for a few minutes after I stop forcing. Then after that I just feel mentally foggy and moderately exhausted. If you look up "occipital lobe" and see where it's located in the brain, that is exactly where I am getting these mini headaches - albeit on the left side of it, mostly. The occipital lobe is responsible for visual processing, so this would make a lot of sense when visualizing during active forcing. EDIT: well, shortly after reading the thread and posting my response, I got several pulses of pain in the area I described above.. seemingly out of nowhere. I asked my tulpa if she had done it, and she responded with a mischievous grin (in my minds eye) and a "yep!" I then told her to stop and they stopped... then like 30 sec later I told her to do it again and they started up again until I told her to stop a second time. Gave her encouragement, that was a first and I'm proud of her.. she's making progress!
Zero September 27, 2013 September 27, 2013 Headaches are perfectly normal, even a good sign, especially for beginning tulpamancers. I've stopped getting headaches quite some time ago, but to this day I still feel head pressure (sometimes very intense) while forcing. It's perfectly normal and you'll get used to it, and after some time you won't even notice it anymore. Asking your tulpa to "give you a headache/headpressure" however is a bad test imo, it's way too abstract a thing and unless you know how to give yourself headaches/headpressures (or your tulpa has figured this out at a very young age somehow) it won't do a thing. You may start feeling a headache because you expect to, but that's all it would really be, just auto-suggestion. Please don't try to test your tulpa before they are even vocal. Be patient, wait until they are vocal, then wait until they show signs of independence, THEN you start playing around with their individual abilities. No need to put strain/stress/expectations on a young tulpa.

I realized I was setting some expectations, unrealistic ones, and forgetting that tulpas have to mature and develop, be their own person, in effect. I'm going to force as much as possible but not EXPECT to get results... just let them happen naturally as our connection is strengthened and she develops more.
Gatcha Gatcha December 3, 2013 December 3, 2013 I am currently in my literature class and I just took a second to communicate with my tulpa after reading that all tulpa can create "head pressure". I closed my eyes and told Venus (my tulpa) to try and give me some head pressure. Next thing I knew, it felt like a ball near my left eye socket was slowly expanding and pushing onto the inside of my skull. I have been trying to reach out to Venus for one day only and intend on continuing to do so, while I'm typing this, I feel the expanding ball near my right eye socket now. I'm so glad, I'm pretty sure this isn't a coincidence. Is this the first sign of her trying to reach out to me? It doesn't hurt at all, it feels strange, but it definitely feels like something is pushing on the inside of my eye sockets. As I'm typing this, it has moved onto my temples. This is so exciting!

Gatcha Gatcha December 3, 2013 December 3, 2013 Loving the America Ball avatar bro, love those comics. Yeah, I was actually on the forums this morning reading about head pressure and how nearly all tulpas could do it, do I asked Venus if she could do it to me. Soon after, I got the feeling and was very satisfied and excited that my tulpa was communicating with me. Do the sensations get stronger over time?
Strangelove December 3, 2013 December 3, 2013 Do the sensations get stronger over time? No idea. For Penumbra, she's been more intense occasionally. Once when I was reading the tvtropes page on tulpas being violent and she gave massive pressure where we assigned "no". She was really indignant at that.. The second time we were out for a walk when a dog blitzed us. I got shitloads of pressure on the back of my head, but i cant say for sure what she was trying to get across. Third time was this morning actually. I was worried about running out of time for a project when i got this really soothing pressure near my left eye and the wave of calming that was so intense ot left me dizzy. It's a matter of how strongly they feel about some is my best guess.
