What happens if your mother was possessed by a demon when you're born?

Most likely not much. In theory, demon possession could help make the delivery smoother or at least take your mother's mind off of the process. I wouldn't worry about it unless she is still possessed. If that is the case then one would need to ascertain the nature of the demon in question. Not all demons are evil. I hope this helps.

Demons are not evil, I have experience with them. Society lies about them to scare people. If she was infact possessed than it probably eased her pain.

Ignore Derpskou he doesn't know what he is talking about. To answer your question it wouldn't change anything since possession is simply control of the body, though its something nobody should seek.

I don't mean to impose, but I believe this is a rather rude thing to say to someone adding their two cents to a conversation. Certainly, it is an unconventional view of society.. but it is still valid.

In fact, the word "Demon" stems from the Greek word "Daemon" which literally means "spirit guide." And, ironically, can link to Tulpamancy for those who practice Daemonism. The word "demon" was later to be vilified by any religion(s) that claimed supreme "true" dominion (whilst mercilessly torturing/slaughtering anyone who disagreed, "in the name of love..." *cough cough* sound familiar?) It was convenient for them to vilify this concept because: what would be the purpose of following their church/temple/sermons if people already have their own guide to lead their souls?

But back to the OP...

Apart from the technicalities of what a demon is... You are asking about whether or not this 'demon giving birth through your mother..' might be linked to you in some way, am I right? In fact, the way I worded that makes it sound even more so connected, so let me just say, it depends on the lenses you're looking at it through.

Considering the word 'demon' contains a lot of negative connotation from society, I take it you're referring to a negative experience that seemed to confirm that your mother was possessed by a demon?

If so, I really wouldn't worry about it. It doesn't link to you in any way unless you want it to, or identify with it linking to you. If by 'demon' you just mean the fact that she was possessed by something (and that's completely taboo by your perspective due to your underlying views from religions that say so) then there's almost certainty that there's more to the story than is being told.

Don't ever let fear control you. Fear only blinds us from knowledge. :)

This brings up another point. What makes one think she was possessed? Perhaps she was SO caught up in the pain of labor that her voice distorted, growled fiercely to the point where it looked out of place, and caused her to swear (which might've been out of her character, etc) or spew obscenities?

Perhaps people even said she was possessed out of jest. "Lol, Molly," just an example, "You sounded like you had a demon in you whilst giving birth!"

More details would be nice to understand the nature behind what might've happened. =)

Demons imo are just representations of the 'dark' (usually just unknown, unacknowledged which can sometimes be actually hurtful) aspects of humanity. Sort of like the Jungian shadow.

To be possessed by your shadow probably isn't a good thing, means you're not at terms with yourself. Giving birth's a pretty dramatic event, so there's a lot of unknowns, so in fear I guess it'd be easy to be conquered by your shadow for a time. As long as your mom got over that and was able to be a good caregiver I don't see any problems.

Being a Satanist, I'm mildly bothered by this in general.

What I'm about to say represents my personal beliefs, nothing more. I mean no offense to any Christian members of the board.

I doubt a *proper* demon (as in one of the goetic demons) possessed your mom. They are very busy people and wouldn't have time to goof around and possess your mom. If she was possessed, it was a troublesome spirit that named itself a demon to scare your mother/those around her. And she did something really dumb to let it in her. I doubt it would have any result on the child, other than damaging mother/child relationship.

Also, anyone saying that having experience with demons is bullshit has quite the ego, as they haven't devoted their lives to it and likely know nothing about demons other than what the Church has stuffed into their minds.
