The black shoe diaries. (Amber and Toby)

Sooooo,

Funny story, I was watching a documentary on the Zozo demon and right as they were summoning it my friend texts me like 4 straight black shots. Just black.

I asked her about it and she wasn't even logged onto Facebook messenger when they sent. The time stamp says that they sent an hour from now and we both naturally flipped our shit.

So not wanting to fuck with even a little bit off that shit I found myself at 2 in the morning exercising my whole house an her IPOD from three states away.

Toby is still laughing at me but when it comes to demons.....better safe than sorry.

I realize I don't update this often enough, but I need to work on other writing projects and warming up is always a good thing so why not start here?

There really hasn't been much in the way of "progress" with Toby although we really haven't been trying anything new. I still want to work on Imposition but I need to wait until this sinus infection passes and I can concentrate on anything for longer than 5 minutes at a time. One thing that has bothered me is I have a hard time seeing him at all over the last few days, another thing I am chocking up to the massive head cold I have had.

But I don't like it regardless.

Although just now I saw him shamble out of our room wearing PJ's and sporting a rather nasty case of bedhead to get coffee and tell me good morning so I guess were starting to get back to some sense of normalcy.

When I am sick I am the biggest baby EVER. Like if I wasn't working then over the last week I was curled up on my couch under a blanket with a teddy bear and a box of tissues watching T.V. That's it, or playing final fantasy but you get the picture and because of that we have discovered that Toby the borderline atheist who doesn't believe in anything supernatural despite the irony that he himself may be considered supernatural, has the same obsession with the show Ghost adventures that I do.

Once I get better I think I'm going to start dedicating at least 20 minutes a day to active forcing. Passive is nice but I feel like my ability to see him has waned and I don't know if it's due to lack of practice or if it's because I'm just sick and having a hard time focusing. I guess we'll know for sure once I'm feeling better.

On another note my first novel Wolves among men is set to be released on April 24th through Nevermore publishing and we are going to have an online release party on Facebook for it. When it gets closer to the time I'll post links and times and I would like to invite you all to come on and attend. Also anyone who is interested in reading something about werewolves and the end of the world I may be persuaded to pass along a free copy in exchange for a review. It would be a kindle or PDF copy but if you would be interested let me know.

Anyhow that's all I have for now.

Oh and I became too excited by the fact you are also a writer that I forgot to comment what I thought about your PR lol.

I view Yumi through a supernatural and psychological perspective, so you can say that I have some supernatural beliefs. All I know, is that there is no way in hell you'd ever see me in a haunted house lol. Oh and it's refreshing to read about how developed Toby is, because it inspires me to think "One day I'll get to that point." When I work hard for Yumi I always think about how far you've made it with Toby.

P.S: That Zozo demon shit that happened is scary as fuck. I don't fuck around with demons either 0.0

I suppose you could call me a borderline atheist too.

I have certain superstitious behaviors. I try not to walk under ladders, I remove my hat whenever I pass a graveyard, and I turn pennies heads-up before I pick them up off the ground.

Sometimes I encourage my superstition. I believe that magical thinking is a form of hypnotism, so I might do magical rituals (even though I don't believe them) when I want to change the way that I'm thinking.

But overall, I don't believe in the supernatural. I'd like to, but I don't. I've gone to supposedly haunted houses (actually, I live in one -- built in 1735, and a friend of mine told me he saw a confederate soldier ghost here once) but I haven't seen anything. (Actually I did see something weird once, but I think there's a rational explanation, even if I can't think what it was.)

I'd never heard of the Zozo demon before (or at least I couldn't remember hearing about it -- I did spend a lot of time in a paranormal community ten years ago) so I googled it the day you mentioned it. Really interesting stuff, and I'm glad you brought it to my attention.

One of the matches on google said that just saying the name could get its attention. Initially I thought "I'd better not say it." even though I have said Zozo many times -- it's the name of a town in Final Fantasy 6. Then I thought "No, I don't want to be controlled by fear." so I said Zozo several times out loud. It's three days later now, and nothing bad has happened to me yet.

The way I see it if a demon shows up in my house because I said its name then go ahead a pull up a chair, have a drink. We might as well be friends but you ain't gonna scare me.

For real though I believe in all that stuff. Well I don't believe in it outright so much as I don't like to say something isn't true without definitive proof and I have had paranormal experiences, I lived in a haunted house and I have seen a ghost face to face more than a few times. The same boy too.

Demons on the other hand I'm not sure about BUT every culture has its incarnation of evil so I am kind of of the mind that hundreds of years of lore and superstition cant be entirely wrong. I believe in polarity and balance, you can't have one without the other and I KNOW for a fact that there is pure good in the world so it stands to reason that pure evil must exist to in some form or another.

My old house had a malevolent spirit in it. It got so bad that no one wanted to go into the basement anymore. We were packing up our laundry and driving nearly 20 minutes to use a laundry mat that's how bad it was. (On a side note TAPS actually came and investigated the house after a pan went flying across the kitchen it was pretty awesome) That spirit was probably the closest I have ever come to anything that would be considered demonic but I still think it was just a guy.

The hardest thing I ever did was consciously decide that I wasn't going to let him control me anymore and went down and starting being in the basement despite feeling sick. I turned up with scratches and bruises, I threw up a lot, I had night terrors and I ended up getting sick a whole bunch and while the spirit never did go away I feel better for having stood up to it even if it didn't really accomplish anything.

Some spirits just hate being dead I guess.

There was a phrase from a movie "the dead hate the living"

I once met a guy who had an evil vibe to him, and it made me throw up being around him. Though I had drank as well. He really made me nervous.
