Guest Anonymous July 4, 2012 July 4, 2012 The issue I've stressed so often is that we're classified with literally hundreds if not thousands of other phenomena that the scientific community won't even consider (and with good reason), which is why we won't get funding. Why should someone with little to no knowledge of tulpae bother looking into it when it seems like just another new-age Wiccan bullshit practice? The reason lucid dreaming was tested in the big psychological research surge of the 70's-90's was because it had no religious, occult, or otherwise spiritual connotations surrounding it. There were reports of lucid dreaming from very credible and intelligent people, so they believed it'd be a good investment for their funding. What we need to do is show some credibility by letting the scientific community understand this isn't a spiritual practice. The main issue is that it's pretty much impossible to get any credible evidence without proper funding. And to get proper funding, we need credible evidence. It's a vicious cycle.
Captain Nemo July 4, 2012 July 4, 2012 Actually, for the longest time, scientists refused to touch lucid dreaming because they believed it wasn't even possible. Along with the problem of them not even knowing about tulpae in the first place, those who hear of it may not believe it's possible at first. I dunno, how are we even gonna get this kind of attention in the first place? At least, if there's any way to seek it out, we should wait until a lot more members have completed tulpae so there's more people to research.

ButHowCanItBe July 4, 2012 Author July 4, 2012 It seems like more members is a very important thing. Im pretty sure a nice big graphic with some information that leads to this website could do very good on something like reddit, fb, or 9gag if all you want it interested people. The majour problem as it seems to me is noone knows about it, i know i did'nt and neither do any of my friends/family. But i agree there should be more people with completed tuplae before any academic research is done because then they have alot more to work with. As for lucid dreaming i think they were able to do research into it because it is so easy to achieve, it doesnt take hundreds of hours of talking to an entity in your brain, you just look at clocks more often and ask yourself if you are dreaming. It addition the idea of being conscious in dreams is not nearly as wild as changing your waking life since we are always taught what you see is what there is is reality while dreams are not real so anything is possible. As for drawing the academics attention in the about page the admin talks about writing an academic paper on his findings so i imagine that will draw alot of attention. I just hope i, and many others, have completed tulpa at the time to back him up.

HIGH BFFFFFS WIT OWR TOOLPAHS!!!1ONE1!! xoxoxoxoxoxoxo Thankfully the majority of Reddit was too busy gently stroking their superiority complex to pay any attention to it when tulpa posts flooded in. But I fear the day this thing spreads to 9gag or Facebook.
Pedonymous July 4, 2012 July 4, 2012 We need to attract the attention of calm, mature, and intelligent people, not hipsters and children. Are there any psychology forums you guys know?

Thanks again, Pleeb. /x/ damages every concept in general, that could need some real research. Even in our case are metaphysics and creepypastas like acid. Not that I didn't already see people on /mlp/ whining about their tulpa raping them... The only way to properly attract attention, is to publish a book putting many psychological and neurological postulates on the base of some not too expensive tests about the general existance of tulpae. I think that should atleast get the one or other scientist thinking about it a bit more seriously. "Sorry for that, my communication implants are idiologically biased."
Pedonymous July 4, 2012 July 4, 2012 I was actually thinking of writing a book, but I don't have money for tests nor do I have the recognition to get sales or attention.
glitchthe3rd July 5, 2012 July 5, 2012 Might I suggest doing a study on the subject? Probably not anything involving MRI, though potentially a research paper could be written that would involve doing some simple tests on both tulpaforcers and non-forcers, and seeing if the result is statistically significant. Depending on how this schoolyear goes for me, I may see about securing a grant to run such a study.
