Instances of tulpa out-performing the host intellectually

Recommended Posts

Thought this would be a cute thread. Just any instances of your tulpa doing better than you at stuff.

Scarlet's usually better at puzzle games than I am, and estimating measurements in general (I always use too much ketchup when she can predict how much I'll use down to the drop, but I usually end up ignoring her because I like too much ketchup). She can also usually recommend good ideas for my programs when I get stuck, usually better than what I think of when I think of it by myself. Oddly, I always beat her in chess and usually come to conclusions on questions faster than her, and sometimes I'm pretty much talking to myself when she's too slow to reply.

There's no evidence to suggest that a tulpa can outperform a host on any intellectual task, but that doesn't rule out the possibility of synergy, i.e. the tulpa and host achieving more together than the host ever could alone. Whenever I have to write an essay for school, Luna and I work on it together and we get better grades than I could alone.

My progress report

Yeah, I don't actually believe it's inherent for a tulpa to be smarter, but I find it interesting that it can happen (regardless of what's actually happening unconsciously). I actually liken it to rubber duck debugging, but I don't want to break the illusion otherwise why bother.

From what I can tell, tulpas tend to be less distracted by off-topic or unconscious thoughts while working towards a goal than the host. That's just in my experience, but it makes sense it'd apply to the average.

That's just a theory for observations though. I've done some.. Full-body-and-mind possession (I've been told it's not switching so Idon'tevenknow), and my tulpas definitely don't act and think in the same ways as me. Most notably Tewi somehow types faster than me and makes almost no mistakes (I already type well over 100 WPM, so that's impressive), and she has better focus for puzzle games. She also enjoys them in the first place. It makes sense as it seems like my tulpas don't worry about as many things as me when they're in control of my brain's thoughts, which would explain increased efficiency.

Otherwise, Reisen moves a lot more gracefully and intentionally than me (which I'd think was the opposite expected of a tulpa controlling the body, huh?), and Flandre has an easier time dancing and actually coming up with new ways to move while doing so. (That's generally how I learn new dance moves, but she's better at it than me. Again, less distracted, I think)

Although Tewi is probably smarter than me, I'm not convinced that's why she outperforms me. I think it has more to do with focus and lack of distracting unconscious thoughts, which tends to naturally accompany any tulpa taking control of my body. As for outside of possessionswitching, obviously my tulpas are much more clear-thinking than me, and I ask them for advice all the time. They give me answers I hadn't thought of, but again, I'm mostly convinced this is because they draw directly from my subconscious rather than needing to process their thoughts consciously, like me.

Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn.

Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

I don't know if Chance has out-performed me in any way. Usually when he talks, I'm conscious of what he's going to say before he says it. I don't know if he can read my subconscious.

Since Starfire and I can switch, she's become a good gamer. She actually plays better than me on some games.
