So I've been pretty curious lately. How fast can a tulpa move the host's body? Also, is it fast enough to play a quick-reflex game such as Counter Strike or something of the like? I feel we should have all the advanced tulpa(e) attempt to try to play a game based on movement speed to see how fast they can go. Please post your results here. :D

I'm not certain if I qualify anymore, seeing as I am more of an Alter than a Tulpa at this point, but I regularly control our body fully and easily. I have no problems whatsoever, even during tasks that require fine motor control.

Aura's not kidding there. Her dexterity is much greater than mine, and she can use our muscles more efficiently than I can as well. Generally, she focuses on the physical aspect of a task, while I supply the mental focus. Our theory is that she's been here long enough to know exactly what each muscle is capable of, while I unconsciously limit our strength out of fear.

Also, as evidence I would like to mention that I can type at around 34 words per minute, and Aura can go at about 42.

(Edit: Wait, I was talking about switching. I have little experience with possession, as it felt somewhat pointless to attempt to control both our consciousnesses at the same time, both controlling the body. So this post is about switching, which is different.)

I type an average of 104 and Tewi types an average of 110, though we could probably both do ~124 max. But that's far less impressive than her ability to write essays - I'm a perfectionist, I write pretty much perfect essays the first draft but writing them consists of many multi-minute stalls as I stare at the screen trying to accept what I've done. Tewi does this without the stalls.

She wrote one, once because I had writer's block and it was my final english project. I don't make my tulpas do my homework I swear.

Anyway, I don't know about speed, but I can confirm Reisen also moves more gracefully than me. We've never done anything requiring speed or strength besides Tewi typing though, but I doubt it would differ much. The mental effects are much more apparent in my experience.

Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

I've had tulpae in the past who were able to possess and play video games, though they tended to be younger and less practiced than me. I'm sure with practice they could have gained the same level of control as I do. Keep in mind also that with some games if you practice and play long enough, your muscles become conditioned for it. So a tulpa could realistically do things they normally wouldn't be able to do because your physical body is conditioned for it. It isn't a matter of mind control at that point. Thoughts on that, anyone?

A tulpa can definitely control a body at the same level as a host, sometimes worse, sometimes better, or mixed. That said, it takes a while for them to get there. I mean, hosts took a while to get good motor control when young too. Now, for some systems, though, possession hinders one's movements so a tulpa has to switch to be as dextrous and fast. But for most systems it seems, a tulpa can do so with just possession. As for my system, Tri is about on par with me in these things now. We can't switch yet, by the way.
