Hi, I was wondering if any one knows about The Philip Experiment.

If so, would it be possible, in theory, be possible to create a deity like thought form? Meaning of course, time and effort is put in, with a considerable amount of people behind the creation.[/color]

I would put this in the metaphysical category.

And yes, that's called an egregore. You should research it; very interesting subject.

Is it possible to create a deity-like thoughtform? Sure. According to T. M. Luhrmann, many people who think they're talking to God are really talking to their own personal God-tulpas.

You might also be interested in the chaos magic concept of godforms. In chaos magic, the state of mind is considered the important part of magic, not the deities involved. So some people use fictional deities, like performing rituals in the name of Cthulhu or Santa Claus. Other people create their own deities.

Does it work? Well, that depends on who you ask. Obviously the chaos magic people believe in it, but most of the people in this forum don't.
