Hello everyone. I am new to the forums, so please forgive me if my terminology is off. I'm going to get right to the point. I have a tulpa of sorts, however they are...more or less out of control. As it turns out, they have been merely acting as my friend from the beginning, and have been sending me through these attacks in which I can't think, can't even see properly. I have had these attacks for a while now, since around the time I fully noticed my tulpa was there. I should probably explain that the method in which my tulpa was created is a tad unorthodox. They began speaking to me after I voiced a very strong desire to have a friend. I did not follow any particular process, which may be part of the problem.  A couple days ago, one of the attacks hit, and I finally noticed something off about the way my tulpa was acting. One thing led to another, and I learned that my tulpa has been more or less torturing me and playing me for a fool. For what reason, I don't know. What I need to know is how to stop this. I have been trying to solve this with a group of friends, however our knowledge is somewhat limited. I currently have the tulpa more or less contained, although for how long I don't know. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

1. Have you seen a doctor about these "attacks" and how do you know it is the tulpa's doing?

2. Can you be more specific about how the tulpa is being malicious and playing you for a fool?

3.  What do you mean you have the tulpa more or less "contained?"

Oh and welcome to the forum! :-)

1.) I have. Nothing shows up as odd to them. They say it's just stress. My tulpa admitted to it themselves.

2.) Up until recently, they have been acting as my friend. Two days ago when this issue was brought into the open they admitted to tricking me, even laughing at me.

3.) I went into my...wonderland I think it's called? And forced them to take form there. Then I just visualized a prison around them and kept fortifying it until the resistance from them seemed to have stopped, or at least slowed.

Thank you ^-^ Both for answering my request and for the welcoming.

Well that is good the doctor sees nothing physically wrong. They are not panic attacks or anything? I am trying to figure out how a tulpa can cause an "attack." That is pretty unusual sounding.

I have read cases on this forum where a tulpa was playing practical jokes on the host. These can sometimes get out of hand and even reach a level that is a little cruel. In those cases, if I remember right, usually talking about it and explaining your feelings about it with the tulpa solves the problem. Maybe he doesn't realize how serious this is for you.

Congrats on the clever way to contain him using wonderland visualization.

Well, I wouldn't say it sounds like a practical joke. But undeveloped tulpas are hardly known for taking action with solid forethought and morality in mind. Mostly because a large part of the time it's simply the host's imagination running wild, but also because the tulpas simply haven't had time to figure out who and what they want to be. Even we're guilty of that, because I myself wasn't totally in control of my mind yet when my tulpas first showed up.

Just remember it's your mind. I know this is an extremely ironic statement given the community but, don't give your tulpa power like that by treating them like a separate entity with their own thoughts and power. If you want control, think of them as an overacting imagination. You're letting your thoughts get out of hand. Belief is power inside your mind, and believing you lack power is handing that power over to your imagination.

Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn.

Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

The mind is incredibly complicated. And tulpas are not well understood despite the reasonable number of people who have them. But here are a few points you probably want to consider.

1)Tulpas can't lie. Well they can, as badly as any human, but they don't think to when really young. Lying is something you learn later in life.

2)Tulpas come from the subconscious. Both dreams and nightmares also come from the subconscious. But ultimately, it is always on your side. It is not fully aware, so it may not understand what it is doing to you properly.

3)There exists the phenomenon of intrusive thoughts. These are thoughts we get that we don't like getting. Could be anything from thinking about jumping off a cliff to blasphemy. These can be particularly scary when tulpas are involved.

4)Although it is true that thoughtforms that sort of walk into your life instead of being forced tend to demonstrate these sorts of problems more often, it likely has nothing to do with the process. There is no wrong way to force unless you really go wild. More likely, people who just get thoughtforms easily are more susceptible to intrusive thoughts.

5)Tulpas exist in a mostly subconscious state when not switched with you. Think about dream logic, and how irrational it is. It is like a hypnotic state, where reason is suspended and gullibility is magnified. Most notably, they will believe whatever it is you believe

In order to give more specific advice, I will need much more information.

I didn't want to go there myself.  I am glad it was you saying it and not Mistgod.  :-)   Yes, I agree with this too.

Yeah, because you don't have the ability to turn it around. You'd be fine telling people not to believe, but not telling them to.

It's fine, you can trust us to keep things realistic.

Hi, I'm Tewi, one of Luminesce's tulpas. I often switch to take care of things for the others.

All I want is a simple, peaceful life. With my family.

Great to hear you've contained them. Now you can tackle this on your own time.

Now, have you tried asking them why they were doing this? You say they claimed that they were trying to trick you. Do they know why they did that? Do they want something from you? Are they angry at you about something? Or is this a case of them not knowing why they would trick you like this?

If it's the last one, this may not be your tulpa's direct doing at all.

See, tulpas and other thoughtforms are extremely sensitive to belief. If you believe they've turned malevolent, then that's how they'll act. But if you believe this malevolence was just a temporary blip in their behavoir, then it shouldn't be too hard to bring them back to the good friend that they were.

The brain is a weird, unpredictable thing. Around here, we have a term: "intrusive thoughts." These are the random brain-things that tend to pop up without explanation or intention... random bursts of words, or a tulpa's form randomly shifting. Young or underdeveloped tulpas, in particular, often have difficulty distinguishing intrusive thoughts from their own.

This sounds like there might be some sort of underlying stress or anxiety that caused an intrusive thought of tulpa malevolence, which your tulpa was then affected by. It very well may be that your tulpa does care about you as a close friend, and that this intrusive thought then caused them to act out and shift personalities against their will, and that the "I've been tricking you all along" was really just a lie caused by that shift. It simply may be that if you stop believing they are malevolent, they will be able to return to their original state.

So, talk to the tulpa. Ask them why they were causing these attacks, and if there's anything you can do to make them stop. At the very least, establishing a line of communication is the first step to bringing harmony back to the system.

Thank you everyone for the help ^-^ Thanks to all of you, the issue's more or less resolved. We had a talk, found that both of us were in the wrong, and came to a mutual understanding. I'm sorry that my first post in these forums was something so dramatic ;-; I usually dislike making public posts, but the response you guys gave me was...overwhelming, but in a good way. I didn't expect so much support, and am very appreciative ^-^ I look forward to hopefully being a part of this community (and hopefully my tulpa once we get to the point where we can figure out switching/possession)!
