So, I've been curious about this for a while, and, if hypothetically, humans had souls(The soul sterotype for this discussion), then that leads to questions. Do tulpas have souls, or are they "linked" to their host's soul? Pretty sure we can agree servitors don't have souls, but what about semi-servitors, or servitors that become tulpas?

(Note: This thread isn't meant to be discussing afterlife or religion, This Threadalready did that and got derailed into a huge flame war. Lets please be civil.

At this point, I'm not entirely sure if souls exist...mostly because it's hard to pinpoint what constitutes as a soul. If they do, then I would argue that my tulpas and I share the same soul. When I was first reviving my primary tulpa, he kept saying that he is linked to me on the most fundamental level, even though he believes that his thoughts and actions are autonomous from mine. I'm not sure what the other tulpas believe at this point. That is something that I should ask them eventually, especially since one of them (Cassia) started out as an NPC and has become sentient on her own.

The answer to this question depends what you believe the nature of the soul is, if you believe it even exists. Since this is purely a question of organized and personal religion, I am moving it to the metaphysical board and leaving a redirect in GD for a week so anyone looking for it there can find it. --If anyone wants to make an appeal that it doesn't belong in Meta, please PM it to me instead of clogging up this thread with it.

Also, my personal take on it is that since they're in many ways independent, but still tied to their host, the answer is somewhere in between -- that a tulpa has a soul, but it's in some way permanently bound to the host's. But this all depends whether the soul even exists, and I'm not sure what I believe about that. Of course you can also take a more atheist-humanist point of view and roughly equate the soul with the consciousness and collection of what makes you you / the thinking agent that appears as separate from the body and appears to come partially or fully detached from it during meditation; in that case, I think my position remains roughly the same.

Here are some physical representation of scattered beliefs. We've actually discussed this in the soulbonding community before as well.

They're more inclined to belive the psychological rather than metaphysical aspects currently. Their argument is that, where we to have a soul, it would be one soul comprised of all of us because we're still derived from Fade. Sentient constructs of her mind.

The Twins and Medea:

Fade = Larger soul that split off into us as smaller souls, and we are permanently bound to her and the body. Sounds a little like what Chupi said.

Jamie, Drewbie, Demetrius:

Pretty damn metaphysical. There's a reason they don't talk as much on this site. That is, besides Drewbie's lack of vocality and Jamie's usual absence. They think everyone has a separate soul, and we just have the (un?)fortunate luck to share a body right now.

Fade and I: WTF, we have no idea and no wish to create a solid belief for ourselves right now, because reality is subjective and how the hell are we going to know for certain until the body's untimely demise? But that's just us.

A queer soulbonding system with tulpamantic influences.

Here again, is another example of the weird things and complexities that come up when you consider a tulpa to be totally independent of the host. I think Melian is me or part of me. If we have a soul, we share it, just like everything else. So, yes it is possible she has a soul, because it is possible that I have one.

Well, I consider a soul to simply be a living mind that inhabits a body.

So - by that logic, a tulpa doesn't simply have a soul, it is one that "co-inhabits" your body, but in that sort of secondary position a tulpa is usually in.

I am not sure I understand the thrust of the question. Talking about the soul out side of the contexts of religion and the afterlife is kind of talking about water outside the context of wet. So I guess what I am missing is your definition of soul. Do you define it as Freud did, soul simply meaning psyche or mind? Anyway, I think a clarification would help us respond to your question.

What? SOUL, he means a soul! Like a spiritual soul. Jesus. That needs no clarification unless you are deliberately being picky and difficult. I love how peeps here on Tulpa Info love to split hairs, make things complifisticated and avoid directly answering the simplest of questions at hand. Do tulpas have a soul? Yesh or nopies.

The concept of what a soul is varies immensely between different belief systems. It's important for people reading these posts to understand what "soul" means to the person posting, so you shouldn't oversimplify it.

"This thread isn't meant to be discussing afterlife or religion" to me means that this thread is just for collecting people's thoughts on the matter, not an argument over what is right. Just like in answering math problems, state your assumptions and answer the question OP is asking.
