Lacquer nailed what I meant pretty well.

For everyone unsure of what I mean by a soul; i'm going by the whole, "Immortal undying essence of a person. That lil' orb that just so happens to contain well, you, in it. The Catholic Church has his to say on souls "The soul is the subject of human consciousness and freedom; soul and body together form one unique human nature. Each human soul is individual and immortal..." I'm no Catholic, but this description should work well enough for this discussion. If anyone wants me to try and define it a bit more, go ahead and ask.

The extra clarification was totally unnecessary. But thanks anyways. Davie and I probably share a Mistgod-Melian soul.

OH and it is more than likely all sparkly and glowy.

Then I can't answer the question given the parameters you have set. Undying presupposes an afterlife. Thank you for the clarification, which I obviously needed.

That's why I gave the alternate option of stating what you believe a soul to be before your answer to the question.

People, as per Tulpa Info style, once again, are over complicating a simple straight forward question to a laughable level. It is madness. Lacquer, you are trying to help so Melian will hold back on the foot stomping.

Discussing the metaphysical was implied, he just didn't want people to start arguing about the afterlife or lack thereof, or religion, of course. He wasn't talking about a "non-metaphysical soul."

Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn.

Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

That.

People, just did what Lacquer said here.

If you need a reference, then look up my post - 'cause, whoopdeedoo, I said "I think a soul is this" and then talked about how I think the topic relates to Esterina.

It's that simple, and for only $0.00, you too can do it!

So, I've been curious about this for a while, and, if hypothetically, humans had souls(The soul sterotype for this discussion), then that leads to questions. Do tulpas have souls, or are they "linked" to their host's soul? Pretty sure we can agree servitors don't have souls, but what about semi-servitors, or servitors that become tulpas?

(Note: This thread isn't meant to be discussing afterlife or religion, This Threadalready did that and got derailed into a huge flame war. Lets please be civil.

A Cup of Tea

Nan-in, a Japanese master during the Meiji era (1868-1912), received a university professor who came to inquire about Zen.

Nan-in served tea. He poured his visitor's cup full, and then kept on pouring.

The professor watched the overflow until he no longer could restrain himself. "It is overfull. No more will go in!"

"Like this cup," Nan-in said, "you are full of your own opinions and speculations. How can I show you Zen unless you first empty your cup?"
