Progress Reports Rule Changes

Recommended Posts

But isn't that what the progress is about, creating a tulpa to be a sentient person? How can you leave out things a sentient person might do, such as express feelings or telling jokes or wanting to play video games? Isn't that part of the tulpa "experiment" or "project?" When a tulpa begins to express himself or herself, you could write about that experience that happened to you just that day. Is that blogging or is it progress? I think there is a fine line. Mostly it comes down to how much it all relates to your tulpa development specifically I guess.

Also, what about descriptions of your tulpas developing personality? For instance, could you write about how sad your tulpa was today and why? Things like this could easily be linked to the emotional and development progress of a tulpa. I think if we are talking about sentient beings, all of that kind of thing is critically important.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but my impression is that progress reports should only focus on tulpas as experiments/projects, and the lounge is for things that focus on tulpas as people.

Not at all. PRs are for the creation process, and events and information that relate directly to that. Threads that are in the lounge have nothing to do with progress, which is what the PR board is for.

If you're talking about things in a way that relate right to development, and making it understood that you think X event affected your tulpa in Y way, and how that contributes to progress, then it's fine. However, if you're talking about X event just to talk about X event, that's where it becomes blogging- writing down things that happened just for the sake of telling people about them.

It's not about somehow taking away the personhood of tulpas, it's about whether something relates to progress or not.

We're all gonna make it brah.

That make a LOT of sense! So an entry in a PR should pretty obviously be linked to the development or progress of a tulpa. If I make a actual PR any time in the future I would go so far as to explicitly state in detail how the event I am discussing effected Melian's development.

I think that you're probably being too paranoid. It will likely be fine, as long as you intend to stay relevant and on topic. And if not, we can give you some pointers along the way.

"If this can be avoided, it should. If it can't, then it would be better if it could be. If it happened and you're thinking back to it, try and think back further. Try not to avoid it with your mind. If any of this is possible, it may be helpful. If not, it won't be."

What if something happens and I'm not sure if it affected my tulpas' development, or if I think it won't, but in retrospect/hindsight find that it has?

If you're talking about something in the context of tulpa development, it's fine. But it has to be in that context. So yes, posting about something that seemed unrelated at the time, but turned out to be in retrospect, would be fine.

I don't know how to describe what's been going on with me recently, but I think it's been going on because part of me feels obligated to only include stuff that relates to actual progress, as opposed to "day-to-day stuff" (a post full of every little thing my tulpas and I did that day).

I support this.

I used to read PR because I was intrested in what other peoples experience was with tulpa.

All I can say is that right now they are a bloody SLOG to read. 15000 word posts on what the host had for lunch and "Also I forced some". Hopefully this will make everything more readable.

You want a blog, start a tumblr or something. This isnt the place.

It might also be worth getting rid of some of the threads that haven't been bumped since 2012, but thats unrelated and doesn't really matter.
