warriortiltheend November 13, 2015 November 13, 2015 Hello, all. I'm assembling a short essay on my own metaphysical theory about tulpa existence. Of course, I'm still investigating a lot of things, so this will be a while in the future, In the meantime, I'd appreciate your thoughts ^^ White text- Ash (the host!) Red text- Quartz! Purple text- Gamzee! Blue text- Obsidian!
Enoch327 November 20, 2015 November 20, 2015 Good luck writing your "short" essay. I have read volumes on Tulpas and tulpa theory. I feel as if I have only scratched the surface. My first thought is that tulpas are energy. Physics tells us that energy can't be created or destroyed. It can only be transformed. So once again, best wishes in your writing. TheCrawlingCreepypasta November 20, 2015 November 20, 2015 The Law of he Conservation of Energy, if I recall correctly. Put some belief into something can get some interesting results. Jersey Devil, Bigfoot, Demons, Angels, etc. "I think, therefore I am" was a popular phrase in Rome for a while, replace "think" with "believe", and you have one plausible answer. Naturally, it also means some very dark, disturbing things since the human mind can conjure some truly terrifying things.
Mr Blangcaster Next Door November 20, 2015 November 20, 2015 I believe tulpa are separate, autonomous egos that exist alongside the original host, but share its mind and body. This means that tulpa are just as real as their hosts in terms of being individual sentient personalities. They're also real in the material sense, because even though they have to share bodies with their hosts, they still have a body to reside in the first place.
Avatar186 January 21, 2016 January 21, 2016 In a sense. Your individual identity could easily be considered an ingrained tulpa. In other words, that which you consider to be yourself is simply a tulpa you identify with as yourself. Constant re identification has ingrained it. You even have a name for it (;. It is most often supported and fed by the sensory experience as it identifies with sensory experience, thoughts, emotions, likes and dislikes. A good actor can poetry another personality. A great actor changed his identity, becoming another person. I believe that form of acting is called method acting. Point being. Your personality is the one you self identify with, your tulpa is a projected personality, associated with, yet not identified with. Like having an emotion or feeling you don't consider to be yours. *projected* made of you, yet not considered to be you. Unless of course, you merge for a time XP.
Luminesce January 21, 2016 January 21, 2016 Is that a metaphysical belief? It's exactly what I believe :| I like to think of my beliefs as eccentric, not "unrealistic". I think they're pretty logical. Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn. Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature. My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.
Avatar186 January 21, 2016 January 21, 2016 A metaphysical belief? Haha. Belief is belief. Belief ends where knowing begins. Yet belief has its place and is a strong tool as it bypasses the logical mind. That is why stories, metaphors and similes etc can be dangerous. In logic you have logic, and logical fallacy. Knowing itself is direct experience. Tulpa is a word. A reference I was unfamiliar with. Yet the practice is very old. Even I stumbled upon 'tulpa' creation many years ago when I was a child, I externalized and 'saved' my anger. I quickly realized this was unwise, an decided to neutralize my inner aggression all together. Tulpa is what some call deity yoga. Although I am not sure you will find useful information under that title. Shaktas and yogis usually don't have a tulpa. They are raw power and control. A tantric or aghori have tulpas, they use tulpas to attain power faster. Fixed attention into absorption and semi samadhi states is used as a means of control by all ascetics. It is almost foundational. Avishkara is the name which implies merging with a tulpa. In short, control is fixation of attention. The senses mind and body are easily controlled by fixed attention. For attention is their natural master. Yet only when cultivated. From what I've seen, the method of control is singular. It is fixation of attention. Yet the methods of power are many. Tulpas are one of those methods. Often used as a means of transcending and transforming the individual personality, as well as a means of controlling power. The mahavidya is a good example of this. I am not sure if I consider tulpas and spirits to be the same thing. Although I feel as if this may be true, I cannot say much on it. I have posted another post in the metaphysics section if you would like to post on it.
