JoyStar January 23, 2016 January 23, 2016 I had a bit of a thought this morning when I was thinking of tulpas, and the nature of reality in general, seeing as tulpas can only be seen by us individually so they may be termed as "not real", but when you think about it, some might say that all that can be proven to exist is our own consciousness. If you believe in God, as I do, it's likely you believe that our souls were formed by God at birth, then put into our body (and if you believe in reincarnation, transfers to a new body once that host one dies.). And that got me thinking. Tulpas as us humans view them, are sentient consciousnesses that are brought into being by thought and willpower. If God created our souls from simply willing it... would that effectively make us tulpas too, from God's perspective? Everything we perceive is reality is all interpreted by our heads. So technically, even though only their tulpamancer can see them, tulpas can be said to be as real as anything else.
Luminesce January 23, 2016 January 23, 2016 https://community.tulpa.info/thread-mass-intro-and-returns-thread?pid=141190#pid141190 I mean, a tulpa is a mental thing. So unless you're thinking that we exist in God's "mind", that might not make sense. Wouldn't we just be children? Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn. Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature. My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.
Evil January 23, 2016 January 23, 2016 Well, a lot can be said about that. Technically speaking, we make wonderlands for our tulpas, as hosts. So, in some ways, according to your theory, it is possible we are living in God's wonderland. But then again, a lot of tulpamancers are not too fond of wonderlands, so what if God has no wonderland in the first place? Thought and willpower? I would beg to differ. This has happened to people who never wanted any business with their mindfolks in the first place, walk-ins that persist through time, tulpas that refuse to ever give up (I am currently in contact with a tulpa like that, who would never give up on his host and always persevered as he had a different vision of life and reality, and saw that he had a place with his host, as siblings). Okay. All men are mortal. Socrates is a man. Socrates is mortal. That is the kind of logic we're dealing with, upon mentioning concepts such as solipsism. Some people with a rather dark psychological record had to face thoughtforms that were never 'forced' or worked on. A friend of ours had his fair share of thoughtform-related issues. If God exists, and if we are God's tulpas, then there would be a lot to discuss, things such as 'Why hasn't God communicated with us yet?' and 'Why can we not shapeshift and improve our intellectual capacities in a drastic way?', those are things a tulpa has the potential to accomplish. I do not mean to insult you, but if we wanted to address your theory, it would be very much alike to 'Are we living in God's dream'? I would say it would be even easier to discuss that point. Ah, I'm too tired. I only came here to help. « — Va, je ne te hais point ! »
JoyStar January 23, 2016 Author January 23, 2016 I don't think you're insulting me, I understand your points. :). I admit that I had forgot about the wonderlands and all that (haven't experienced it myself since I'm tulpa-less), and if we thought of whether or not we were living in God's dream, it could further complicate things. Thanks for your responses regardless though, I appreciate it. Te more I learn about tulpas, the better.:) Everything we perceive is reality is all interpreted by our heads. So technically, even though only their tulpamancer can see them, tulpas can be said to be as real as anything else.
Guest Anonymous January 24, 2016 January 24, 2016 My host is not a god. He is a big nerdy dope and an old gray goat. We day dream together so I created myself just as much as he "created" me. I guess if he were a god for creating me, then I am right in calling myself a goddess. But this is all very silly. I don't think tulpas become sentient just because of their hosts by the way. Hosts shouldn't take all the credit for that. Tulpas shouldn't feel that the host created them alone without any help from the tulpa. Imagine an amoeba splitting into two pieces. Which of the new amoeba gets the credit for their being two distinct living things now? I don't think either can take all the credit for themselves. That's silly. That subordinates one to some sort of a thing. Hey is a tulpa a mind amoeba?
Aiko_M January 24, 2016 January 24, 2016 How would you explain a friend of mine meeting my tulpa? Without going too deep into it, I created Riko's original form from a character in a game. A friend of mine ended up dreaming my headspace/wonderland and instantly recognized my tulpa there. I didn't even know she had played the game as it is foreign. She knew I have a tulpa, but that is all. She recognized her and told me the exact character. It could not have been defined as a coached response by any stretch of the imagination. I certainly define Riko as real. Delete this account - I will not return.
Guest Anonymous January 24, 2016 January 24, 2016 EDIT: We changed our response here because apparently we were on drugs when we first read this about Riko. That is trippy what you are saying and very cool! Makes you wonder. I have appeared other peoples dreams. But they already knew about me and what I looked like
JoyStar January 24, 2016 Author January 24, 2016 Wow, that's awesome with Riko! And Melian, I like your amoeba analogy, never thought about it that way. :) You know, reading that thing with Riko, I have another theory: What if all tulpa wonderlands are in the same sort of dream-dimension and it's an entire Minecraft-type world (in the sense it's parts can be shaped to anything) that can only be accessed though the dream/imagination realm. Everything we perceive is reality is all interpreted by our heads. So technically, even though only their tulpamancer can see them, tulpas can be said to be as real as anything else.

But they already knew about me and what I looked like Metaphysically I know what happened.. Scientifically (established theory only) I cannot explain it. Then again, I don't need to. She's in my life and that's real enough for me, the fact she was seen by another is little more than novelty in the grand scheme of things. It brings me a level of comfort knowing that her consciousness exists, for one day I will depart this body and I hope she is with me. Wow, that's awesome with Riko! You know, I have another theory: What if all tulpa wonderlands are in the same sort of dream-dimension and it's an entire Minecraft-type world (in the sense it's parts can be shaped to anything) that can only be accessed though the dream/imagination realm. In some circles, it is said that there are realms that are only accessible via higher states of consciousness. My headspace has been something I have been using for occult practice for a lot longer than I have had Riko. It is not beyond the realm of reason, metaphysically speaking. (Pun intended!)
