First, let me ramble a bit because I used the word aromatherapy. For my opinion, it's total crap in that way it's usually presented - that these and these specific aromas help you with depression, social anxiety and urinal infections and whatnot. Of course pleasant smells might cheer you up a bit, but their specified reliefs are widely exaggerated and some of them are just pulled from a hat. (And I'm sorry if I offend someone who believes in this stuff, it's just my opinion). But as people still react strongly on smells and some certain ones might take you easily way back in distant memories making them lot more vibrant than just trying to memorize them, there's strong possibilities in uses of "aromatherapy". For example, I used to take a lot of sedatives as medical help for anxiety - way too much actually. But I did this little trick - I used lavendar oil on pillows and aroma lamps couple of times when I took those drugs. And not long after that, the smell of lavendar oil started to have same effects as sedatives, it calmed me down instantly. I don't have to take those drugs anymore and I'm ever so grateful for that. Now I'm just very addicted to different essential oils in different situations, but well, that's not an unhealthy or a bad habit.

But back to the point - I was wondering if anyone uses any aroma stimulation to help them in different stages of tulpaforcing - as a help to get them in their wonderland, imagining their tulpa in the same room (and remembering thats he/she is there), remembering better their early stage tulpa's image, manners and just feeling of their presence etc. I'm not meaning that your wonderland or tulpa should smell like lets say oranges all the time, but the aroma could help you to focus and remember. I could imagine this could be well working method for some, as long as you use the same aroma every time and only for those situations. And I'm probably going to try this.

Yes, I do. I am doing pre-imposition work, and I light incense sticks to help me bond the scent with his presence. I only use incense for this purpose, because I really like fragranced candles etc. in general, and using incense sticks for other purposes would very probably confuse me, since I use them frequently.

I'm SomethingDire, and Céleste is my partner in crime.

I use lavender for sleep as well, but I also use it for my anxiety, so I'm a believer of holistic medicine, including aromatherapy. Of course the power of association is strong as well, like what happened with you and sleep.

I don't use scents for forcing so much as I do to help paint the scene when we go to the wonderland for forcing sessions.

I can see it being useful to use smells for forcing though. Giving your tulpa a smell so you for the association. It might make you think of, or passively force more often.

No smells here, just taste. We use York Peppermint Patties, aka chocolate mints. Smell and taste have proven to be strong senses for training your brain to a certain state. Forcing/meditation are no exception.

Hi! I'm Lumi, host of Reisen, Tewi, Flandre and Lucilyn.

Everyone deserves to love and be loved. It's human nature.

My tulpas and I have a Q&A thread, which was the first (and largest) of its kind. Feel free to ask us about tulpamancy stuff there.

What a great idea! OH what scent do I want my host to use though? OH rose petals?

Never even thought about using taste in things like this. Sounds like a fun idea, I have to try it too.

I must recommend natural orange oil essence for about everything. I'm absolutely in love with it, it smells like sweet, juicy and zesty hard orange candies.. But maybe don't use lavendar, I kinda learned to like the smell but it also reminds me of men's shaving foams. A lot.

A lot of people have assigned smells and tastes to their tulpas to remember them throughout the day. In our case, the smells were just used for immersion in the wonderland, something that could pull everyone in just a bit quicker. We haven't tried taste or sound yet.
