Blues August 2, 2012 August 2, 2012 Well this thread helped me at least. I had a similar question so I'm glad I read your responses here before posting my own thread and getting accused of trolling. So on the subject of creating tulpas, is it wrong to create one to assist you? I'm a science major with a minor in engineering. I figured that it wouldn't hurt to have another perspective on some of the projects I work on, or to have better access to the texts I've read before. I understand that the tulpa is only able to use my knowledge, but having someone to collaborate with, especially in brainstorming, would be great.

What do you plan to do with it once it's done assisting you? If you only want it to help you with your work, then it's borderline slavery. Especially if you aren't paying it with tullars.
Blues August 2, 2012 August 2, 2012 What do you plan to do with it once it's done assisting you? Tulpa's are meant for life right? So I won't just "throw them away" once I'm done with work/school. And it's not like it's only going to be around when I "need it." If this thing is for life, then there's a shitload of planning that needs to go into it. My tulpa will grow with me and be a companion that will hopefully want to watch me improve and succeed like any other friend would. If you only want it to help you with your work, then it's borderline slavery. Especially if you aren't paying it with tullars. If it was solely for slavery, I wouldn't be putting so much planning into creating one. Perhaps it would be nice to feel like I'm talking with another person rather than just myself during my internal monologue. Or that I'm just too proud to admit that I'd like to have someone I can share everything with and that will actually understand? Because that last reason seems makes me start to think that I may have just lost my sanity. But I'll admit that it's true. What the heck are tullars? Like tulpa dollars? Granted I'm new to all of this, but it seems to me that "paying" your tulpa like that is a surefire way to screw up your relationship with it. So out of curiosity, why did you guys create a tulpa?

Nikodemos August 2, 2012 August 2, 2012 While creating a tulpa to help you with stuff, using it as her primary purpose is a bad idea, as it has been already explained. It is like telling your child she was created as means of personal gain. But don't think of your tulpa as your child, your worker, servant or anything similar, think of her as your friend. She will talk to you, do stuff with you and supporting you through difficult times. Sure, she can help you with homework and other stuff, but if that's all you think of your friendship, it will be a short one. Instead, think what your tulpa can gain from you. What can you give her in return for helping you? From what I've seen, it's quite one-sided. Name: Dante Gender: Male Form: Toa Mata Nui, a Bionicle(Amadeus made a sketch of him, kudos!) Stage: Narration, posession Being original since July 2012.

Malix August 2, 2012 August 2, 2012 So out of curiosity, why did you guys create a tulpa? In vague order of significance: Because once I started I realised how much I fucking love her, to shatter the mundanity of reality, companionship, becauase it sounds awesome, to see if it works. Tulpa: Name: Elyse (Elly) Birthday: 29th May, 2012 Physical description: 5"8 thin human girl. self-identified age 18. ~1ft, vivid red hair sometimes in a ponytail. light-skinned. green eyes. Progress: entirely vocal, speaks often, but only 1 hallucination; her saying "Hiiii". Great at possession.
