FigN01 August 28, 2012 August 28, 2012 and i agree /mlp/ is almost the perfect group of people to expose this idea too. Because they're all basement-dwelling loners desperate for a real life pony waifu? ...Even if that's the case, there's no denying they're almost entirely responsible for the community's resurgence, what with the rampant open-mindedness and all. The only reason I ever got wind of tulpae was because of gossip through the pony grapevine too. The reach of that show's influence is unsettling in the most pleasant ways.
fagmaster9000 August 30, 2012 August 30, 2012 Sadly, as is the nature of /x/, the shit winds picked up, bringing in shit bats and shit wolves. Slowly the threads slid down the shit rope as roleplayers, tripfags, and trolls moved in. The threads went from active discussion about creating tulpae, to avatarfags talking about how their tulpa helped them astral project into the astral plane where they met up with other roleplayers and had parties. They loaded up a hair-trigger double-barrel shit machine gun, with the barrel pointed right at us. More and more legitimate people left the threads and abandoned the whole idea of tulpae, believing it to have been pseudoscientific bullshit from the beginning. By mid to late 2010 everyone (including me) abandoned the whole thing altogether as the shitliner docked in port. We never looked back. Then the /mlp/ threads came, and revived it from it's shit grave, with tulpa.info working as the catalyst. Now here we are. Lay off the liquor, Lahey.
Guest Albatross_ August 31, 2012 August 31, 2012 A detailed account of pre-/mlp/ tulpas I will be adding this to the timeline shortly. http://i.imgur.com/xbB25.png
